Quartz Seam? Scratches? So tired as we finish the remodel!
Comments (16)Yes, as the rest have said, that is bad seam. I had Cambria in my previous kitchen and the seams were barely noticeable. It was a dark color (Welshpool Black) as well and the install was about as perfect as it could have been. Good luck with your resolution! It's so frustrating to see the finish line and not quite be there yet....See MoreQuartz Seam Jagged; Told: "it's the best we could do"
Comments (32)If you've not yet paid, don't -- demand it be fixed to your satisfaction. Put your complaint in writing to the person billing you for this, send it via tracked certified mail, return receipt requested -- and do keep a copy of it. If it is not resolved to your satisfaction in a timely way, you could contact the BBB, sending them copies of that correspondence with pictures and any information about the reply. Contacting the BBB might not get you any resolution to your issues, but forewarning someone else could give you some satisfaction. If the contractor is especially obnoxious and unprofessional and unconcerned, you might find out if some local radio and/or tv stations do stories on how bad a local consumer has been treated. Well deserved bad publicity has the potential to lose them more money than it would have cost them to resolve your issues....See MoreQuartz Countertop Seam is TERRIBLE
Comments (27)I bought this at a Chinese imports place because of their competitive pricing. (I don’t speak any Chinese.) This whole time, I thought I got quartz that looks like marble, but I went back to purchase a matching piece yesterday... and found out this is marble. Aghhhh! I’m messing up on so many levels. Looks like I’ll be resealing this baby every 6 months! It’s a good point someone made about water absorption changing the color of the countertop. We installed it on a very rainy week. Maybe the top slab absorbed water during transport. Anyway, so far, no matching slab found. There’s one that’s been reserved and not paid for yet, so I get to buy it next week if no one picks it up. Crossing my fingers!!...See MoreQuartz seam appearance
Comments (18)To be clear, I didn't say I was unhappy with the seams (other than the place where the installer ground out the corner), I said I thought they were okay and was looking for feedback. I have never had quartz countertops before and this was a huge investment so I wanted to make sure it was done correctly, which I know now that it was. I'm attaching a photo of what it looked like before....See Morecherylbirth
