I made a TV show Sample and I need real feedback
Comments (23)Hi Patti. I love the idea and concept behind your show. I realize this was just a "pilot" attempt, and perhaps you wanted to show a range of some of the things the show would like to cover, but I felt it was way too light on substance. Now, if you were to do one show with just two subjects, and maybe a third, small segment on something quick - tips, viewer ideas, etc., that would be a lot more interesting and informative. Again, I'm guessing that here you wanted to show a range of subjects and that when/if you do a true episode, it would indeed be more substantial. I would also love to see more of your background - I found myself wanting to see your house, your yard, your neighborhood - since it deals with sustainable urban agriculture, I wanted to see your surroundings to get a feel for exactly what situation you were in, and to be able to adapt that to mine. Again, this is something that perhaps you are planning on doing in any future shows. I thought you had a very good on-screen presence, good speaking, good voice projection and liveliness - you seem quite comfortable in front of a camera. Best of luck to you. I'll be keeping an eye out for you! Dee...See Moretwist and shout good feedback?
Comments (6)Well here is my experience with the two. Blushing Bride I have two of in very different locations. Both have never died to the ground, even in their first winter. The first one is in almost complete shade and is in it's 4th season. Gets a little evening dappled sun for a couple of hours. Flowers on this one are always 50/50 if they are floppy or not. I just cut the floppy ones off and bring them inside. Seems to help promote more upright ones the remaining part of the year. My second one is in it's 3rd season. It receives alot of sun(6-8 hrs)in the middle of the day but it is mostly dappled. Only a short period of direct. It does very well and rarely even shows signs of wilt. Along with it's flowers are never floppy! The Blushing Bride is always my first hydrangea to bloom in my yard. This hydrangea gets an A+ in my book. I got two Twist n Shouts last year. They were very small starts and didn't do much last year. This year we had a mild winter and they died to the ground. Although all my Macrophylla hydrangeas except for the BB have died to the ground in their first winter. They came flying out of the ground this year and have over tripled in size. They both have each put off a few flowers. They were close behind my PW Starlights for my third hydrangea blooming in the yard this year. So they seem to bloom on new growth just fine and are very vigorous growers in my book. Seems like it will be a great one also. The red stems and fall color are a nice bonus also! One is planted in early morning sun and the other is in mostly shade with less than an hour of direct evening sun....See MoreTrouble w/ getting feedback from showings. Need Advice
Comments (25)Ahahaha, my house is more than "a bit" weird. The house was first an Earth Home Shelter, ie, an octagonal "bunker" under the ground. Then, the original owner/builder added a main floor over the lower level with crawl space in-between. The central octagon shape, with three-story tower, spiral stair and skylights, is still the center of the house. The other rooms radiate from the center. Octagon equals oddly shaped, angled rooms. There is only one rectangular room in the entire house (the great room with windows on three sides and stone fireplace). The house is done in wood paneling, including beautiful ceilings, with wood and tile floor and local stone accents (walls and hearth). There is a covered deck wrapped around the entire main floor. We have instructions for other realtors to call my husband before showing so that he can explain the house and its quirks before they view the 20-acre property. As one realtor said, "It is weird enough that it is extremely appealing." The acreage and the unusual house definitely put this property in a specialty market. We expect to have fewer showings than "normal," however, they should be active buyers. So far, we've been surprised (positively) with the number of showings. BTW, my husband had a call from another realtor just hours after reducing the price, and someone will be viewing the property tomorrow. They knew of the property before the reduction and called BECAUSE of the price change. Is that weird enough for you? Originally, When I thought about marketing the house, I considered the headline, "Not for Everyone." Of course, it IS for SOMEONE out there......See MoreBought a few items at Home Goods for my FR - need feedback
Comments (0)Based on feedback on my recent family room thread I went to Home Goods to looking for a larger urn for my plant and something to fill the vacant TeV to better disguise the unattractive side view of the TV from my kitchen which is to the right of the family room. Right now I cannot put the plant inside the urn but it looks like sufficent space to transplant it--which when I do will lower it as right now it looks too tall. What do you think? Either one or both? I really like this pottery. The scale is much larger than what I had before though I think I will still need something to draw the eye upwards--either with a picture or some tall reeded type plants. The plants I got before don't seem quite right so will return to Michaels this afternoon. Or is this type of pottery bettter left unfilled? The urn seems to go perfectly with my sectional: Below is a link to my previous thread on my FR where there are lots of pictures of the room. Here is a link that might be useful: Previous thread on FR...See Moretiggerlgh
