I need a bra with straps that don't slip off my shoulders.
Comments (63)I was so sick of my bra straps sliding off my shoulders & not finding a bra that didn't. I finally decided how I was going to fix it. I bought elastic (I think it was 5/16"). I used about a 10 1/2" piece (it will depend on the width of your back from strap to strap) make it slightly shorter so that it lays smooth across your back.. Slip one end of the elastic through the O ring where the upper part of the strap attaches to the adjustable part of your strap, sew in place. Then attach the other end to the other O ring on the opposite strap. Presto! You will no longer have sliding straps. I am in the process of doing this to all my bras, and have not had a slipping strap since. It is easy to put on as you slip the bra over your head first & then put your arms in the straps. I wish I had thought of this years ago. Cost, about 25 cents!...See MoreI don't need this, I don't need this......
Comments (17)The 'innards' of the one I saw were pretty rusty, but there was only one teeny rust spot on the lower drawer on the outside. Four burner gas - the left lid pulls up and slides back into a groove behind the burners. The drawers opened, but with horrible squealing noises. The store manager told me it was original and just removed from a local 1920's house. 'Mine' had different handles; they were an off white, possibly Bakelite. The oven handle was missing and they had the oven taped shut. I would love to put it in the dining room if we get it (if it is still there). The kitchen countertops are going to be green....See MoreI'm just letting off steam, you don't have to read this.
Comments (13)Talking about hoses, I have given up on garden hose altogether and have started to make my own. About 13 years ago I bought a house that the last owner gifted me a hose that he made for his rv made from automotive heater hose. He told me it was about 15 years old at that time ( I still have it) I found myself going through garden hoses every year are 2 if it was a good one and the price for a good hose is not cheap. So a couple of years ago after going through 3 hoses in 2 years for my front yard at this house I decided to see how much it would cost if I made one like the other one. Turns out not much more than a good hose from home depot so I made 1. Bought the hose by the foot from a local automotive parts store and ends brass ends from ace and put it together. Now I have a hose that will last 20+ years and the 1 given to me is still going strong and it is about 28 years old but they do kink but they don't break and they can take the Florida heat and not dry rot and take being under pressure. Problem solved with the hoses....See MoreJapan Trip, day 11
Comments (4)There are several Flight Museums in Los Angeles. I'm not sure what you can buy there, however, but I would imagine that they have gift shops. Here are some more aviation museums in California. Here is a list for North America, but California has by far the most, followed by Texas....See Morenicole___
