When buying upholstered furniture a sofa is always your best value. In fact from a wholesale perspective there can be as little as a $50-$100 difference between them and I will tell you why. At the trade shows, primarily the twice a year High Point market, April and october or the Vegas market manufacturers like to quote low sofa prices as they show you their wares. I have been to many markets, over 60 High Point Markets, where you will be lead around the showroom with the rep quoting sofa wholesale or in some cases retail prices, $699, $799, $899, $999. It's so boring. What they never quote are the love seat and chair prices where the manufacturere is making their mark up. My advice buy two sofas. I think it looks better and you are getting more value.

I guess I can't exactly say that your sofa does not "go" with your current rug, but I would say that currently most people would not pair the two, at least not in the U.S. That said, black/grey/white, with red is a classic combo in fashion and I am hard-pressed to call it wrong, but it is not popular, or at least not something one tends to see in current design magazines. Personally, I find it a little too harsh and jarring and night-club. Also, the sofa style is traditional and the rug pattern is modern. But if you google "red sofa living room", you will see something very similar to what you are asking about, to wit: So, the question is, do you like the room above? Do you think you would like it with less modern furniture, but the same colors and same rug? Do you care what is in style, or do you just want these colors?

Since you purchased that size sofa, you cannot center it on the back wall and still have room for chairs on both sides, so I decided to slide it to one side. IMO this sunroom might be a good place to have a cupa or read a book so providing a large surface to hold a cup of coffee and lounge in a chair is important. Everything in this area cannot be beige or it will be too blah, so I have included a comfy swivel lounge chair and patterned rug that pics up the colors in the throw pillows.

First, a comment on buying a sofa and loveseat; it can be difficult to find a coffee table which services both. Can you use two love seats or two sofas? Just be aware. There are other fabrics which can make you and puppy comfortable. My favorite is Kashmira and you can find it on Flexsteel furniture. First, I have had Flexsteel. It will still be in your living room 20 years from now. Kashmira? It’s my dream come true. Looks like leather or suede (depending on your like)…amazing feel and comes in lots of colors. I’m offering you something other than leather because I don’t think your red chair will show up well if you buy new leather pieces.
