Edmunds' 2015
Comments (9)I also ordered a Neil Diamond this year - from Springhill which is a similar iffy vendor like Michigan bulb - and I've been pretty impressed with the plant so far. I pinch off bulbs in the first year, so I don't have a lovely bloom picture like Beth, but it certainly has TRIED to bloom on me countless times this summer. It's a nicely branched bush about 3' high so far, and has very healthy leaves and canes. I am optimistic about its chances of surviving the winter, given that a related Carruth rose Rock 'n' Roll is resolutely hardy for me. All in all, well worth the gamble. As for Edmunds, they have a good selection and support their roses well, though I have had a higher rate of failure from their bareroot plants than other equivalent companies. Having said this, I tend to have at least 10% of my bareroots from any vendor canker to death in my first summer (or die from "verticilium wilt" as I understand it), so I'm not the best judge of these things. Regardless, I'll be ordering from Edmunds myself as soon as I can look over their options for spring. Cynthia...See MoreEdmunds 2012 cat. is up
Comments (4)I had a couple of my roses from them last year not break dormancy, but they replaced one and gave me credit for the other. Great customer service. All the roses I got from them are thriving, including the replacement. One of the roses I ordered last year was Veteran's Honor. I was worried about the supply being around for the future what with J&P going out of business (along with their patents). I don't see it in this years catalog. Boy, if there's a J&P rose that suites you, you may want to think about not putting off ordering it.....Maryl...See MoreEdmunds 2016 website ready
Comments (7)Edmunds and K&M are the only 2 rose nurseries I order from any more, I'm already over $100.00 and plan to add a couple more for my two away from home projects. I'm still trying to make up my mind about that new stripy climber. I'll probably go ahead and add it to my order. On own root and Dr Huey, I always order in pairs, planting them about 12" apart. This way I end up with a big bushy effect. Sara----Do yourself a favor and order 2 of your special rose (CM?) and plant them about 12" apart and see what happens....See MoreAll of a Sudden This Website is all Messed up Today - What's the Deal?
Comments (19)"I think Houzz is fazing out GardenWeb." I doubt that. It acquired GW to increase its readership and therefore the possibility of sales. At the time of acquisition, GW was a much more active and heavily populated website than was Houzz. And the old GW component still accounts for a majority of the activity on these forums. This is just a software glitch. And will be corrected in due course. They are still working to integrate the two platforms and sync the software and various bugs pop up while they attempt to do this. No need to look at any temporary problems as doom and gloom. It will all get straightened out eventually :-)...See MoreBenT (NorCal 9B Sunset 14)
