Bathroom Decorating Ideas?

I’m looking to decorate the bathroom in my new home. I’m not a huge fan of the colors/design but I’m working with what I have for now and am just looking to decorate, not replace floors/cabinets or anything like that (maybe paint).

What colors would you use here, and how would you decorate it in general? Unseen in the picture is a window opposite the vanity, and a single long light above the mirror.

You have a nice, neutral blank slate to work with. No one can suggest colors in a vacuum - not knowing what you prefer or what is being used in the rest of your home. Maybe look through pics of similar bathrooms and find some inspiration there?

If it were my room, I'd find a colorful runner for in front of the vanity, some art for the walls and hang some towels and bars (if you don't already have towel bars installed somewhere). The logical place would be on the wall to the left of the sink so you could have art on the wall to the right?

Maybe an orchid in a pot on the counter, or another kind of plant if you have enough light - a soap dispenser or soap dish. Have fun!

I like canvas art because I wipe water off easily. Here's a possible scale for yours, with mirror larger than art. Art shouldn't probably be wider than the toilet. Idk if this houzz excerpt helps: "Having lighter colors at the eyeline will help a bathroom feel clean and airy, but try balancing them with a deep color lower to the ground. This adds a sense of richness that helps keep the space from feeling too stark, without making it overwhelmingly dark. Plus, it beautifully sets off classic white fixtures."

Pick a color, I think blue against the green is nice, and accessorize. Blue towels, small area rug by the pedestal sink, a plant in a blue planter on the toilet tank. Decorate the walls above the towel rack and behind the door. Use Alien Tape and stick up some art prints with blue frames, get removable decals of bluebirds and make another little arrangement.

@la_la Girl Thanks for responding. Many of the choices are either busy via matching floor and wall tile or smaller tile like 8-9 inch hexagon on the wall or floor (I'm personally not a hex fan). We're considering a lighter version of the current floor tile (the one on the left in this picture). But then I don't know if that'd make the bathroom a little too boring with the shower tile and if the undertone still works as well?
