We installed Cali Northshore oak longboard in our rental cabin when remodeling it and absolutely love it. The oft mentioned issue of repetiveness did arise but our installers did their best and we don't even notice it now. We are now thinking about doing the same in our main house on the entire 1st floor. I since discovered flooret and understand it's wear layer is twice as thick on the signature versions. I ordered samples. Upon comparing with Cali I still like Cali better - it's texture is more 3 dimensional and it feels better to our bare feet. The color, hue and design on the northshore is better than all the samples from flooret ( kingswood, elmsford and sutton ). The floorets are definitely nice but somehow the Cali feels better. Also the Cali rides a bit higher - it's backing is thicker than the flooret. We are torn on this decision because it seems a thicker wear layer for around the same price would be better. But in terms of appearance and feel the Cali wins out. If anyone has any suggestions I welcome them!

My padding was very pricey but it didn’t have a name brand. Was sold by the foot by my rug importer. I also have cheapies for rugs by the bed. The pricey ones feel more comfortable (spongy). Neither has stuck to wood or tile flooring but the cheapies do get brittle so after a while they are as slippery as if you had no padding. I think it’s money well spent to by the pricier ones but again, no damage to flooring with either. Curiously the spongy shelf lining that looks similar to rug padding has been a DISASTER. Over time it sticks to shelving and it’s a mess to remove. Walmart stuff. Won’t use that again!

Also like 20 mil wear layer of Nuvelle "Titan" Vinyl floor 9" very wide plank great colors, embossed texture surface non slippery, 6.5 mm thick. Tough surface wear layer, many videos showing removal of stains as well as 100% waterproof after soaking in water for days. $4 psf material only. Several local floor supply stores carry Nuvelle Flooring LVP SPC Suncrest. Titan line is AC4 (classified as moderate commercial or higher residential use). They make lower lines as well.
