Crepes get pretty big, you know. Wider than 66", for sure, at maturity. And when those red blossoms and dead buds drop on your driveway, there's always a mess to clean up. I know, my neighbor's overhang my rear driveway and leave the mess on my side. And they have huge, lateral woody roots, so over time, they are likely to move underneath both driveways and crack the cement. Just sayin.

Have you run your planting plans by your neighbor? I would do so before entertaining a tree planting in this strip, for the reasons I stated above. If they love them as much as you and don't mind the possible issues, well......go for it. What you do NOT want to do is plant them and when they get too big, or get to be too much to prune so often to control size, then try to remove them. Cutting them down will not kill them, grinding out the stumps will not kill them, and they will be sending new sucker trees out from their hardy roots everywhere for a very long time. Voice of experience on that one. I'm still fighting suckers in my front bed where I removed 2 two years ago and even ground out the stumps.
