Cutting lawn short for overseeding...too much too soon?
Comments (10)I also agree with dsledge. I have aerated most every year that I have seeded. The couple of years that I did not, were miserable failures due to heavy rains that completely washed the seed away with a couple of days. I had to completely reseed in those years - a huge PITA not to mention $$$. I just put my seed down yesterday, and due to both time constraints and a tight budget this year, decided to forgo the aeration as we are not due for any rain this week, at all. I plan to water appropriately with my sprinklers, to get the seed set properly. I may even walk the yard in the bare spots (I have several - our summer was just brutal). If you have the time and money to aerate, I highly recommend it. It has always worked best for me. I am keeping my fingers crossed this year....See MoreStair skirt too short
Comments (4)Hi, posting on the off chance you’re notified of this comment - wondering how you ended up fixing this problem? I have an almost identical problem with my stairs and this is the first example I’ve come across of it. One side of my staircase is exposed which when looking from the side, shows an ugly triangle sitting above the skirt, where the riser meets the tread. It’s as if the skirt is too low, or that the stringer hasn’t been constructed properly....See Moredealing with too short doors after carpet removal
Comments (6)The OP makes no reference to gaps between the baseboard and flooring. In that case, it's simplest to extend the door. Duh! Otherwise, pricing out the cost of a trim carpenter, repairs to plaster--no drywall in century homes--and new baseboards and trim might lead you back to a simpler approach. Duh!...See MoreAre my Chairs too Short?
Comments (7)And what you are probably seeing is the fact that you need to finish the space - rugs, art, all the chairs in place, etc. With lower ceilings short chairs are a great way to keep it from feeling confined. With taller ceilings you sometimes need the higher backed chairs to fill the space. I like how you repeated the color of the legs w your decor because that color w the floor and table base seemed off. But not if you repeat it and make it look intentional like you did....See MoreCDR Design, LLC
