Differences Between Girl Babies/ Toddlers and Boys....
Comments (11)I don't think the walking or quick-learning has anything to do with being a girl. All children are different. I have two boys who are as different as day and night. My oldest was very physically advanced, crawling at 5 months, pulling up at 6 months (his little legs would wobble and shake as he FORCED himself to inch along the furniture), cruising (fast! - literally running down the hall with one hand on the wall) at 8 months. But he wouldn't let go and walk until 10 months. My youngest, who didn't walk until after his first birthday, is much more of a dare-devil. The younger son is the one that climbs any and everything. We have to inventory his bumps and bruises every Monday so daycare will know what happened at home. Little did I realize that those early years would so accurately reflect their personalities. My oldest is very determined and very self-controlled, but is not a risk taker. He doesn't like to disappoint anyone. My youngest is much more footloose and fancy-free. He doesn't give a flip what you think of him. My boys are 5 years apart and the younger child regularly plays with his brother and his older friends. He is as tough as nails! I don't think he will ever lack for self-esteem. I also worried (unnecessarily, but that is what moms do!) about their intelligence. My oldest just *knew* things. He just seemed to know colors/shapes/numbers/letters with zero effort. My youngest didn't pick up those things nearly as fast. I thought my oldest was normal so I was shaken by my youngest's lack of interest. The younger child started talking very early and got a lot of attention for being a "talking baby", but in my mind, he really couldn't "do" every much. When DS2 started attending preschool, he shone. He can memorize any story and repeat it word for word. Finally I had an Eureka moment. My oldest is a visual learner to an extreme. My youngest is a auditory learner. Neither is better than the other. They are just different. I always say that God sent my younger son to teach me humility. I thought I had this parenting thing figured out ... WRONG!...See MoreUpdate on Little Girl's Baby Quilt
Comments (23)Thanks so much, your praise is very validating. I always know when I like something a lot. It's entirely different to get other folks' feedback, I'm certainly no longer objective AT ALL! Kate, Magothy, sorry I went too fast to stop & say thanks for asking & noticing I've been mostly gone of late. Largely quilting, gardening, working full time & lately rehabbing a big knee injury. Still the Quiltworks go on & I'm taking on greater role at my local Quilt Guild making connections & getting to know the upper echelon of the Group. Magothy, I'm not familiar w/ the Lazy Angle ruler, will have to look it up. Just used a 2 piece template after rotary cutting strips & fussy cut backgrounds to color match like yellow accents around yellow stars, lavender kitties around purple stars, pink piggies around pink stars, etc. Do any of you happen to have any personal connections w/ folks at pattern companies? Am considering trying to offer this pattern commercially, if I can figure out how to go about it. Hi Dan the man, Loved the hands clapping, really made me smile!!!...See MoreOT: Healthy Baby Girl

I'm jealous, she's got more hair then me. :o) if you had posted the announcement/pictures somewhere else I probably would have never seen them, so Thank you for sharing your precious joy here. L. Comments (11)Keep the decals! Cuz I like them LOL. I like the photo with the purple bedding and the pink rug. These are much richer and much easier to change out than painting the whole room, and she probably will want to change some things out as time goes by. This way, too, it will still be her familiar old room, yet it will be a big girl room. (Kinda makes you happy, kinda makes you want to cry doesn't it!)...See MoreRelated Professionals
