with the stacking, transporting, and displaying I'd probably put them in jars and then make cute country cloth covers for the lids. It's either that or putting the bundles inside of celophane bags so you don't loose the bits and pieces that fall off. Plus everyone is familar with herbs in a jar. Sometimes they don't know what to do with them if they are still on the vine.

this is a local issue and what the rules are here in VA may not apply in NJ. i wouldn't hesitate to sell dried herbs without a certified kitchen. there's no processing involved.

This is not the place to ask for contributions for a business (in my opinion). Many of us started out with nothing and we started with a few seeds to trade. We've worked hard to make our gardens and we didn't ask for money. You might want to ask for donations somewhere else. Also I fixed some of your English. You're not just asking for donations--you are seeking investors. Your paragraph doesn't show a solid business plan. Please don't be offended if we don't invest. This campaign is to start a backyard organic garden that can be used to supply organic produce to local markets. The benefit of investing in my backyard garden is that I will pay it back in the future by supplying products in exchange for your contribution. Anyone who gives over $100 will receive seeds annually in air compressed, vaccum sealed bags of dried herbs as long as the garden is in operation. It is my goal to mass produce as much as possible. My backyard can accomodate at least 2- if not more- greenhouses.

You need to be checking with your local municipality as to what sort of licensing you might require. Here, at the very least a business license would be required but since you will be selling an edible or consumable product, other licensing restrictions may apply. If you have never operated a business before, then I'd suggest you take advantage of whatever classes might be offered in your area. The SBA routinely offers them for free.
