Jewel designer needs help decorating her dreamy living room!
Comments (24)Thank you for doing those images @mommyjoy!!! They are so lovely looking and I agree once some of the larger elements(rugs, furniture) are in place I will use accessories to tie it together. @aktillery9 I do love the rug but it may turn out to not work so great. I have a round rug if you can see in the wide angle image that is grey and purple with a vintage feel. When I think about the rugs together it makes no sense but when I see them next to one another I think they do work. Hopefully it does work as @mommyjoy said there is a vintage theme going on too. Next up is my floor plan! In looking at the room do any of you have ideas for how it should flow and how the placement should go? As I wrote it is a bit of a challenge, large room but not huge, not super narrow but not wide with walls of windows looking at the water and that alcove. I can take more photos if that would help any of you help me! Thanks!...See MoreNew to Design: Living Room + Furniture + Decor
Comments (6)thanks for writing and suggestions! The green and white subway tiles are just to give some idea of the looks and colors that are being used elsewhere in the house, as well as the brass faucets. I would like to keep somewhat to a theme throughout the home. The wallpaper pictured is the exact wallpaper in the room - and is displayed on the "tv wall" and seating area in the potential floorpan pictured. I love the look of the big, heavy drapes and sort of fell for the way they cascade on the floor.. but, open to any suggestions in ANY part of the design. The fireplace (as is) is red brick with a crown moulding surround, not the barn wood beam shown - apologies for all those suggesting! I have considered painting the brick a white or black? I do intend on using a single sofa, but can't decide on material and color. I recently came across the green leather and got a little smitten, that's why there's two sofas shown. I do not intend on using a sectional in the space but my family does a lot of lounging and insist on being able to prop their feet or lie back - my intent was to get ottomans to bring to the sofa when it is time to lounge, creating that sectional option for comfort. I definitely love the look of a wingback chair and have several in my idea book, but haven't been able to settle on a fabric or style. Comments (7)If you love the yellow, go with it. You may want to consider a soft cream or a beige or a soft blue for you sofa. Gray is SO overdone! Look at fabric samples for a color scheme you like based on the yellow chair...look on line, in fabric stores and magazines to see what you like...educate yourself re colors and how they go together by looking....good luck....See MoreNew apartment- living room help
