We can't see the head to be sure but a poisonous snake would have a triangular head and thin slotted eyes. Any snake with a round nose and round eyes is not poisonous but it will bite if aggravated. I am somewhat nearby in Virginia but have never seen a snake with that type of markings. It is a odd random pattern.

Look up Black Kingsnakes for a comparison. They are non- venomous and beneficial. They eat venomous snakes and have a special enzyme which prevents the venom from causing them harm. They also prey on mice and rats as a benefit.

It's far, far easier to become familiar with the handful of venomous snakes by their very identifiable patterns rather than trying to get close enough to look into their eyeballs! I strongly recommend against the eyeball/triangular head method, as a matter of fact. Even harmless snakes can puff themselves up and flatten their heads in order to deceive.

Love Trees, get yourself a good reptile field guide or bookmark a website that illustrates the venomous species as well as the others. Learn the former; there are only 6 in Georgia, most of which you will never see in your entire life.

Your beautiful snake is absolutely a stunning King snake. It's illegal to kill any non venomous snake, so admire them from afar.
