White walls and trim advice?

I am looking for a shade of white for our walls and trim. Should the trim be a different shade of white?

What whites do you like for a modern open floor plan with a lot of natural light?

Did you search on Houzz? Lots of discussion on the topic.

I would use the same shade, but do matte on walls and semi-gloss on trim.

Also google Maria Killam. She has a blog with lots of paint advice.

Our kitchen/LR/DR/stairwell/bedroom hallway walls are BM Super White in Aura paint, matte finish, and the base molding is the same, but in Aura paint, satin finish.

(Doors and windows and their trim are all stained wood)

A classic white is: Dunn Edwards DEW380 "White -1" For cabinets, trims and baseboards (i.e. high traffic locations) I would suggest "Low Sheen"

I would just change the sheen unless you want more contrast. I would not use White Opulence in this situation because they are both too close but too different. It would be just "off" in that head scratching way. Now I do know White Opulence very well,as I've used it for all my trim and all the kitchen cabs in this house.

The safest answer is to get the cabinets, get a white that matches the cabinets to paint the trim and then pick an off white that looks great with your whiter white for the walls or use the same color for the walls and trim and cabinets and use different sheens on the walls and trim.

Thanks all! Yes, we have a hallway that I believe has Acadia White on the walls, and there is definitely a cream vibe going on there--one reason I'm a little reluctant to do the walls in the new bath with it against the tile. I had Navajo White on my list to check out, and have added Glacier White too based on looking at the Chroma values, though I think I want to go lighter than the trim vs. darker. (We have Edgecomb Gray in the existing bath and I like it against the tiles we're using, but it's definitely a gray, so need something lighter than that.) The room has a south-facing window with LED lighting (some in a bathroom fan where I don't think we have much control over color, and then wall sconces where we do).

If you're looking for a modern space try Benjamin Moore Super White like @cat_mom suggested or Benjamin Moore Decorator's White. The Decorator's White is a touch more grey but still white looking. Try the same color paint but in a different sheen like matte/satin. They will look the same but different enough that the trim doesn't get lost.
