Shower tiled but tile guy made ceiling paint peel :-(
Comments (8)Thanks, all. So, DH is the painter ... (how does one put an emoticon that denotes chagrin??) He is the most careful, conscientious person I know when it comes to doing things right. I'd have to go check out our vast store of half-used paint cans to see exactly what we used, but I believe we used Kilz as a primer (not oil) and probably Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams latex -- 2 coats, about a week apart -- as the paint. I would have felt very bad if we had to call the tile guy on this, actually, because this job (the tile, most particularly the shower pan that he had to do twice) was probably the biggest tiling headache he's had in a long time. Nice guy, truly. But I have to be careful not to let nice people take advantage of me sometimes so I needed a sanity check. Appreciate the advice. And thanks for the nice compliments. We are so psyched about our room!...See MorePlease help-tiling to the ceiling; before or after install hood/cabs

Comments (6)Well now you're freaking me out. I was already having some concerns about the shower pan install and flood test. Wonder what you or anyone thinks about the appearance here. To me the water was clearly well below the marked line (I took pic and then had to leave to drop kids off and when I got back he had arrived and already drained pan) but he insists there was no drop and my eyes are deceiving me. Unfortunately really hard to tell in picture, but I am 100% sure the water was at least a 1/2" below mark and honestly seemed more like an inch although I didn't measure bc was afraid to touch anything. First pic was this morning about 24 hrs after filling second pic was day before, sorry it's not great but I was really taking of the curb that I wanted fully covered but wonder about the actual pan as well...See Morehazelcraddock
