Thanks for your feedback. What color would you suggest for the new furniture? The wall that is not shown here has windows facing the lobby....all of the windows are also trimmed with this honey oak ....about 6 inches wide outlining each window. In other words, when you walk in, it’s all of this dated woodwork and it’s overwhelming on the baseboards and crawling up the walls. How do I accent that? I thought going dark would be the only way. I’m not interested in an L shaped desk but am interested in a stand alone executive desk with a return on it. I need more surface area than what you show as I have a lot of meetings with people who pull up a chair and sprawl out paperwork for me to look at. The furniture store suggested using this as the return on the desk For that purpose.

The beige walls are making the space feel very dated. For wall paint colors I would try a shade of grey. To split the difference between the coolness of the navy carpeting and the oak wood try Benjamin Moore Gray Owl 2137-60. It's warm so the space will feel more inviting, will compliment the wood because it has a HINT of green but it still neutral enough to work with the floor.

Creamy white would be nice but I think it will be difficult to keep clean. Orange and blue go well together since they are opposite each other on the color wheel and it will go with the grey also so give that a try. Plus it will fit into your rustic lodge feel. The Gray Owl has a hint of sage green so it will work quite nicely with the oak - they are both earthy.

Any 3 of these would work for your area, navy being one of the 3 even(your carpet). I regret they do not give the exact paint names from this blog. I will say, a little pumpkin goes along way, so if that hue is appealing, an accent is a safe use of it. Less is more, however, if you go slightly a different version? lighter, such as a mustard - it may work well for you.

Looking for other ideas, I noticed you have mini blinds on your office wall of windows. I think you might consider changing those out. I am not certain that a special fabric of drapery, there are so many textures and prints and sheer to woven fabrics... would not be nice, certainly would be a relief to rid the area of all the lines that blinds create? I also like roman shades, the fabric can be so many different things and that helps the acoustics more than blinds whether metal or wood.--- Also, not seeing the wall opposite your wall of windows in your picture, would you be able to place your desk parallel to the 'wall of windows, that would give you a very different perspective on the office space as a whole, and just seems like it would make the area more comfortable? Perhaps more to come.. Hope someone has given you some pleasant ideas to consider here.
