How do we redo this honey oak bathroom?

This bathroom needs some love. Ir is a unique setup, which was terrific for having 6 kids sharing a bathroom, but now everything is 30 years old and needs updating. The bathroom is 2 rooms. the first has just a custom size vanity with a sink, large mirror, and closet. The second room has the vanity, sink, medicine cabinet, toilet and shower.

1) the honey oak is in the vanities, medicine cabinet, door trim, doors, and shuttered closet doors. It’s also in the banister leading to the room, so it actually works well with the flow of the house. However, if we were to paint/refinish the vanities, would the medicine cabinet and trim and doors, and closet also need redone? What if we just painted the vanities?

2) the whole bathroom needs new light fixtures, faucets and hardware for the drawers. If the door handles are gold, should these also be switched out? What about the hinges?

3) Since the trim and baseboards are oak, what color flooring would you suggest? Gray tile seems to clash, but brown tones are also difficult- they blend too much or are too dark. . (I have had white baseboards and hate them-they show every speck of dust, so changing th color of the baseboards is not an option)

4) I have a healthy budget to work with, but I don’t like the idea of replacing hard wood in really good condition with cheap particle board or new hard wood in a different color. It seems incredibly wasteful.

5) the white, cast iron tub is still in great shape, but the non slip tread has completely worn off. One Contractor who came to look at the project said to just replace it with an acrylic tub. Again, it just seems wasteful. There’s no staining and no chipping or rusting. Is replacing it really the best option for a slippery surface? (There are now grandchildren who take baths in the house frequently so any new surface would have to be kid friendly)

6) the shower surround needs redone from the original Corian, but with hard water with a high iron concentration, will the grout get rust-stained quickly?

7) A contractor who came out said that when replacing the countertop, the oversized mirror would probably need to be removed and most likely wouldn’t come out in a way that would allow it to be reused because it’s glued to the wall. With such a large vanity but only one sink, what kind of mirror would you hang? The whole point of this outer bathroom was that it allowed multiple people to brush teeth, wash hands, do makeup, hair etc without interfering with people needing to shower or use the toilet. With ~ 20 people in the house during holidays, it’s still very necessary to have the space and large mirror.
