Tile ideas needed to create expensive tile for less...please
Comments (10)hi remodelfla, I'm not sure you would be interested in this, it is probably not what you want, BUT I saw this bathroom that Sarah R. did using Lowe's tiles. The overall look is great, there are white subways, cream tiles, gray pencil tile, and the floor is an inexpensive marble that she laid with a mesh marble subway tile cut to make the border. If you look at the details closely you can see how they did it all. I think it really gives a high end look for not a lot of money. Here is one picture, if you want more, just let me know, I have some close ups. They also used a white chair rail tile to cap it off as it went around the room. In other parts of the room they simply used the cream tile from floor up, then hit the gray pencil, white subway, gray pencil, white chair....See MoreSearching for a tile similar to Falling Water, but less expensive
Comments (4)I love those...But I don't think you'll find something of that pattern for less than the $15.80/sq ft..or that general vicinity. We did some slate tiles in a more regular pattern that I found at Home Depot for $2.99/sq ft (on the rack with special order floor tiles). The same texture and color ranges of the FallingWater tiles, and the overall organic feel I wanted, but not the pattern. We used the 4 x 8's but there were other choices, including some smaller, I think. I've also seen smaller mosaic bricks and squares in that same type of slate (actually quartzite like in the link below), but can't remember the price. It seems it would be less, but tile prices and what seems like logic don't always go together! Here is another site with the ones I was thinking of. The mosaics are in the same line as the Fallingwater, so maybe a less expensive option for the same stone options/colors. http://www.unitedtile.com/.docs/pg/10619 Here are my HD slate tiles: Here is a link that might be useful: See the white-gold quartzite on this page-no price, though...See MoreLooking for this taupe/gray tile or similar from GW experts!
Comments (0)I love this backsplash but you know the designers rarely answer questions on Houzz. Anyone have any idea on this brand of tile? I would love this is a larger format for a kitchen backsplash. Comments (18)Well for a plant and seedling house, you definitely want something vinyl or with a washable coating. So jealous! I dream of installing something like that in our bathroom, which is the one room with enough extra wall space. I imagine it around a soaking tub. Right now we have a handicap accessible huge walk-in shower room from the PO which we retrofit as a mini greenhouse during seed starting season . . . That is going to look fantastic. Please keep us posted!!...See Moresunfeather
