"Office" versus "gaming" chair for home office

I am looking to upgrade the office chair in my den (home office) at home. I am not enthralled with traditional leather chairs as they look old fashioned, out of date, and would appear to belong to a generation that I am not part of.

Rather, I am intrigued by the "gaming chairs" that I have seen advertised, in particular the one below. I am wondering folks can offer comments about whether or not this would be a good match for my home office. (I can post pictures of my home office if need be, but for privacy would prefer not to).

The colors in my home office are dark red. The desk, shelves, and cabinets of my home office are all a black cherry stained finish (very dark red). The carpet is a neutral color and the walls are also neutral (not white) walls. The doors of my office also are a dark red and similar tones. I have three monitors on my desk, all black or silver. I would say overall that my office is very strongly a traditional office and definitely not a modern office. But, I am not a fan of traditional desk chairs.

I wish the particular chair was a dark red rather than bright red. I can also choose the black version as well, but I am intrigued by the red color.

I'm not going to comment on the how the color works. But as someone who has recently been shopping for a new computer/desk chair myself, I hope this is one you can try out in person to first make sure it's comfortable for hours of sitting, that it supports your back properly, and that it has a decent range of adjustments. I'm in the process of returning a chair to a local store, that is great to sit in but has weird, uncomfortable arm rests that can't be adjusted to a comfortable position for mouse and keyboard use.

If you're asking for a "would it look okay" opinion, you're gonna need to post photos.

A good gaming chair (that fits you) will be at least as comfy and ergonomic as a good office chair. Definitely try it out before buying if it's expensive.

H & M and Leathercraft are too expensive and will not sell to you only a dealer the best way to go here is Fairfield. Too many companies are ripping off the customer by not letting them buy anything without a dealer buying it the dealer's price which is probably twice or sometime three times more depending the company you choose to buy from. It used to be that Hickory had a 20 mile area to look at different stuff for the same quality, styles, and at price value! Basically if you are paying a $1000 or more for a home office chair, you better go have your head examined! Better yet Office Depot would be better than a $1000.

The top looks kind of Victorian? Can you get a better shot so we can see it with the sofa. I love that lighter green you chose. I don't think the darker ones you looked at originally would have looked as good in there or blended as well with the sofa. It's a bright and cheery place now.

Point taken! Beverly's chair is perfect, if only it were 6" higherÃ¢ÂÂ¦ ceiling is 12' and there's a pretty tall window behind this chair. I hadn't thought of Ballard (which is the frontrunner so far, I love that they do COM) but I've checked Arhaus, RH, PB, Horchow, Overstock, Wayfair and furniture manufacturers. If anyone has other suggestions, I would be very appreciative!

You might want to look into the Herman Miller classic Aeron chair which is available in three sizes and with many customizations.

Note: be sure you buy the right kind of caster for your floor. If you buy a hard caster and you have a hard-surface floor, the chair will careen around the room with every movement you make.
