I would think in the Taupe family.

i don`t think vinyl windows are correct for this home because the profile of vinyl is so typically thick

Wait a minute. You're going to skimp on the windows and get vinyl, then spend the money you save to change the siding so it goes better with the vinyl windows? How about just getting the original replacement windows instead? And do you really have to replace ALL of them.

Is it just the lighting or my monitor, or is the siding on the back of the house two different colors?

Groveraxle, it’s the lighting on the picture- the siding is beige on the back of the house. And yes, we have to replace all of them - 75% of the seals have broken and the windows are cloudy. Plus the contractors that gave us quotes have said it would cost more to do it piecemeal. So, we are just going to bite the bullet. But the siding is old and will eventually need to be replaced. We are just trying to make the best decision without pricing ourselves out of the neighborhood with improvements but still want it to look ok.

If you go with the white windows, I say leave the siding light like it is so you don't get a lot of contrast.

@groveraxle- really like the second one! Is it just me or does the taupe seem to clash with the stone?

Mmcclane, the taupe might not have been the best color to choose; I just wanted to show something darker. By the time I removed the giant weed from the front of the house and then installed new windows, I was kinda pooped and so didn't experiment too much with colors. I do like the current color with your stone, though, so painting the siding is one less thing you have to do. ;=)
