Your DL purhases for this year?
Comments (31)pnwjoy, My sister lives in Longview WA. It's my first year to order DL too. I see we have some of the same cultivars. I'll be interested to see how they do in your climate so I'll know whether to share with sis or not. Here are my new dl. A couple came last fall so I'll be looking to see if they survived the winter and have new growth. From LA wins (Dawblaw, Hemnuts, Maximus7116, Mike144mann, Daredevil, Tjlily, Screek, Zildjian): Ancient Wisdom Antique Charm Avante Garde Bluegrass Strawberry Taffy Broadway Gal Carnival Flair Chevron Spider Cleopatra's Jewel Desperado Love Lexington Ave Mariachi Milk Chocolate Miss Tinkerbell Mynelle's Starfish Natchez Moon Notify Ground Crew Passion In Paris Persian Pattern Prairie Tornado Quilt Patch Roses In Snow Royal Kaleidoscope Scaramouche Sears Tower Tell About It Wild Horses Box stores: Dream Legacy Ribonnette Trade: Wineberry Candy Ordered from Bluegrass: Bagana Baitoushan Royal Flycatcher Jungle Fowl Volcan Fuego Ordered from Banner (clumps): Barbara Mitchell Pearlfisher Pink Strawberry Candy Yazoo Jim Terry Fairy Tale Pink (alt if she doesn't have enough PP) Still need to use my AHS voucher so I'm thinking of selecting a few from these from Newbury Daylilies. Comments (71)Hi Debra! #1 GW's search bar even forum specific search bar doesn't work very well. So I use Google, I look up a specific cultivar ex. Citrix. I type in (Google) Daylily Citrix 1st and see what comes up. Then I type in Daylily Citrix gardenweb and it will pull up tons of stuff. It will then give the option 'show all gardenweb' and I hit that and then sometimes depending on the cultivar it will pull up tons of GW threads. But even with all of this sometimes you still may pull up zero (on a particular cultivar) and I search up images. I then hover my mouse over the image and it will show me the source of the pic without actually having to click on the pic and be directed to the source of it And a lot of times I may go thru pages of images hovering my mouse to try and find a gardenweb thread in hopes that maybe someone will have more in depth info. such as strong grower/weak grower, hates the south/loves the south etc. I find so many super cool threads. I soooo want to comment on many more however I didn't want to get on everyones nerves commenting on thus bringing to the top old threads. So I try and reserve my commenting on ones that I find as precious as gold. You seem to have lots that fit that category Debra! I love these threads! And I am a new daylily grower/collector so these are so enlightening. There are soooo many cultivars available I try to find good opinions on the ones that I want before I bid/buy them. I can't ever just seem to be a 'regular' gardener I obsess over and collect whatever plant I am into for that year or two. Buy books on it, spend tons of time reading up on it and of course buying too. lol It's not my only hobby but by far my favorite and I've shelved my other hobbies for the time being. But I do get burn out and (usually in the winter) swear off all my major gardening but then Spring rolls around and I'm back at it full force again. lol Rena'...See MoreShook Hill fans
Comments (52)Karen Brubaker -- I think we did. It literally has been so long since we had the plans modified that I really can't remember. I know we enlarged the kitchen and living room. One of the really beautiful things about this plan is the windows. The lumber rep kept asking me if I wanted to shrink the window size and I refused. So glad I held my ground. We have a bonus room above the garage -- they are still working (does it ever end?) on the bathroom tile up there, but the views from that room are amazing. Here is a photo of the master bedroom....See MoreSL Old Ivy Modifications and Critique Please
Comments (12)Thanks so much for the comments: kelhuck - I would definitely increase the garage to fit our cars and to allow for ample storage space. Depending on how we modify the downstairs, I will need to move the upstairs a bit. The laundry and loft would become a bedroom, and I was considering taking a few feet from the master and combining that with the 4 feet of added space and making a long storage area or possibly 2nd laundry. Great point about the bathroom linen closets. Downstairs we would probably remove the bathroom next to the living room completely to make a place for the basement stairs, although we've considered the possibility of having the basement entry in the living room, which I know isn't optimal but do-able. athens - although I do find the exterior beautiful and classic, I've also always been drawn to the exteriors with a gable in front and a porch off to the side, similar to these...See Morebpath
