Saw this on my front door camera this morning.

I don't own a cat. It apparently visits occasionally. I have seen it sleeping on the settee in the back yard under the big tree. Someone must own it because it was shaved this summer.

I designed this piece of furniture so I had a place for a few extra tall and heavy books that I like to keep near in my usual room to enjoy them. The space in the side doors is for jigsaw puzzles. I should have made it 3 times this big.

My little buddy is riding in style. His mom has a second booster seat and I got it for my car. I'm looking after Gino again.

How cute is that?

Books!

I love books and reading but usually a book is a book and people allow them to accumulate and gather dust for no particular reason. Far more interesting in Michele's second photo is the vintage McIntosh tube amp on the right . If the tubes are replaced when that's needed, I'll bet that has a special sound!

What kind of speakers are connected to it?

The amp works. My husband is in charge of the set-up. I just get to enjoy it. It sounds great. The speakers are big and not great “decor” but we don’t care. We love music and it sounds great! Vandersteen speakers. Here are most of the records

I'm envious. That's the real deal, pricey but very very refined. The beauty of speakers like those is how they sound with the system, not how they look. What style or styles of music on vinyl?

I surrendered to practicality about 15 years ago. I digitized a few hundred of my albums and hadn't made it halfway before I ran out of steam. I then bought and ripped over 1000 CDs into lossless format. Today I have over 20K discrete tracks, with some duplicates.

I can search or call up anything instantly from my phone or tablet or PC to play on my home system (very good but sub-audiophile quality) and have my entire collection with me in my cars (either thumb drives or SD cards, it varies with the make of car). The sound is generally pretty good but I'm sure what you can listen to is several levels up. The convenience of the route I went is excellent, but at the price of sound quality. Because my preference is genres other than classical, like rock, folk, etc., it works for me. If I were heavy into classical, I probably would have maintained and continued to add to my vinyl collection. I still have it but never play records anymore.

I have two tube amps but they're guitar amps.

We listen to everything. Classical, Jazz, Rock, Reggae, Soul...... We listen to CDs too. It’s convenient. But when we have time we like to sit there and enjoy the albums. I don’t have the ear he does but it really is wonderful rich sound. We’ve had it for years now. If anything happens to it I don’t think we could replace it. It’s become a real trend lately and prices reflect that.
