Decorating dilemma with area rugs-pics...HELP!
Comments (7)The idea is to lighten the top half of the room both in color and in style. Use the slips on just the armless chairs. I think that will look fine since the armchairs are over to the side. Designers often use a different look at the ends of the table versus the sides. Do you have a lighter colored bed sheet? Why not try laying it down over the carpet. That will give you an idea of how a light colored carpet would work. Also, you will want to change some of the artwork. You need to bring the blue up to eye level and get rid of the jewel tones altogether....See MoreWallart Vote please
Comments (16)It seems that you both really like the wall clock triptych, as you have asked about this several times. If YOU really like it, I would keep and use it regardless of what anyone says or thinks. I don't think the rug needs to be changed for the clock as it all seems to go well together in terms of color. Would you consider just using the two flanking canvasses and leaving out the clock? You could always use it as a clock, perhaps propped up on a bureau or desk in another room....See MoreNeed help Changing rug of my house floor
Comments (1)I'm sorry about your flood. Most people install neutral color tile that works with their wall color. Like paint, tiles have different undertones so be sure to bring samples to your house to see if you like the tile in your space. You can plan for area rugs too to add color and warm up the space. I like plain shapes and colors installed in an interesting pattern. Home Depot has a row of tile samples and there should be info about if the tile is floor or wall. You can also get info about installers there. Or go to your local tile store, the usually have installers or can suggest some. Post pictures of your space and you might get more suggestions. Did your subfloor get wet as well?...See MoreThinking of Changing my Area Rug
Comments (8)You've made this into a very inviting and livable space. Love your gallery wall. I would just suggest that you lower the painting over the couch and perhaps think about removing everything over the TV. With a smaller room it's good to leave some negative space. I don't see any rug choices added to your post. You might consider buying a rug that covers most of the floor and placing the animal hide on top. A rug in a neutral color with a small or subdued pattern would tie your space with its different colors and pattern together, and also make the room look larger and more cohesive. The eye needs a place to rest while taking in the interesting features of this room....See MoreColleen
