how to decorate my foyer?
Comments (17)Thank you all so much! I never really thought of the greige paint matching with the all wood doors! So maybe we change the paint color or all the interior doors!! We weren’t planning on keeping them too much longer as this is an older house and we are slowly redoing things—we painted the walls about two years ago but I am already kinda regretting the color. We wanted some thing neutral to go throughout the house but we may not have chosen wisely ;) and i should add that one of the foyer walls is attached to the greatroom that is 29’x34’ and has 25’ ceiling so its a pretty overwhelming room 😬 The wood floors were custom from previous owners (came from north carolina) so we are having a hard time matching but we def want to change foyer floor and we need a new floor in room to the right that also leads to a kitchen that will be remodeled in a few months so we need to find something to work with all rooms…but we also really like the wood in our great room and hallways so i hate to rip it up :( Also really love the herringbone pattern idea!! maybe we can pull a piece of it up and take it somewhere to see about a match… The previous owners even had something done to distress and nic the floors so it may be a tough one to match :(...See MoreI need help with my foyer!
Comments (21)lisamarie, the Wayfair table has a pretty cutout detail, which might not 'show' unless you leave it open. It 'breaks up' the tile angles. The Balisier was nice... Comments (6)In order for a place like this to be designed properly you need an overall plan. First of all you need to know your house style and what suits it. Then you need to know what you appreciate in colorway and so on. Inspiration pictures help with that. Research what do you like to define clearly your taste. Really though the best thing is to have somebody to come in and work with you too give you a plan which creates flow throughout your home. A consultation I think would go very far....See MoreWhere would you stop new tile in my foyer?
Comments (8)The only place that would look natural is to stop the tile at the end of the short wall on the left. Unfortunately, that is before the damaged spot. If you brought tile to the end of the wall on the right, you would have a split situation for your floor vent. I think the change in flooring would just emphasize the floor vent. (I don't mind the floor vent, it's part of having a house!, but I wouldn't want to bring attention to it.) So I think you are better off to just replace with wood. It will look nicer and you will be happier in the long run....See MoreMy House
