what color should I paint the kitchen cabinets?
Comments (11)As you said, improving a house for sale, requires a careful evaluation of investment vs. return. Have you consulted with several local realtors to see what the consensus is? IMHO, Jan is correct - the counters and back splash are the problem here, not the cabinets. Unless the cabinets are shot (and we can't see that from your photos), save yourself time, $ and aggravation and don't paint them. I have years of experience staging homes for sale and I would advise you to lose the back splash and replace it with a simple creamy white subway tile to connect the floor and counters. Then lose the green walls because they do not enhance the wood cabs, etc. As Stacy suggested above, replace the pulls with simple brushed nickle. Then call it a day. Best....See MoreHELP! What color should we paint our kitchen cabinets to go with floor
Comments (12)paint the uppers only, a white or mushroom....[putty]…..I think the bottom cabinet area will work with the floor then. The layer of wood cabinetry on the walls is very "heavy" , visually.....regardless of what floor exists. A change at eye level[walls] will change things in a big way. And the wood cabinets lower down will actually be good, as an "anchor" for your space. And get some runners/mats. You lack base drawers..at some point a replacement will come into your discussions..... so extra trouble of painting them isn't worth it....See MoreShould I go with 42" kitchen wall cabinets?
Comments (7)You could also do 42" cabinets with space to the ceiling, and not have the "simply plywood + crown molding". With the low price of $2.5k, and that description, I'd want to see what they are talking about. It could look good. Or it could look like a basic builder's special 1990's soffit, which you would have been better off without. You need to see a pic of what they mean by "simply plywood + crown molding". I would not do the 36" cabinets with a 9' ceiling under any circumstance. Putting in a stack on top is expensive to begin with, and even more expensive after-the-fact, like, really expensive. And it will be difficult to match the new stack with the existing cabinetry. And if you end up leaving the 36" cabinets as is, you will be forever regretting not going with the 42" cabinets....See Moreshould i go with the black table, or the sea drift color for kitchen?
Comments (12)hahaha, that is good news, as I have had two designers from pottery barn, tell me two different things, and my friend that is a designer said to go with the lighter color. I just don't think i can! Thanks for your relply....See MoreRelated Professionals
