American Dagger Caterpillar? S.E. MI z5b

I've researched this as best I can and American Dagger is the only thing that comes close to looking the same. Is this a correct identification? I found this on a tree at the park and it was the only one I saw. It was about 2" long.

    I think it's a spotted apatelodes. American dagger moths have 'pencils' at the front and center, none at the back. According to David Wagner, caterpillar expert, the key to IDing spotted apatelodes is their red prolegs - I think I see some red on the legs of your caterpillars.
