Uh, oh. Vanity is in but now sink placement is all wrong. What to do?
Comments (8)Thank you, Sophie! This is a big help in understanding what should have been done. The cabinet maker did the design based on my request for some drawer space, but I didn't care how big the drawers were. I signed off on the design assuming he knew how it would all fit, and now I feel like an idiot for not researching and measuring all this myself. By the way, are the 4" space requirements on the side also part of the code? I think it could all just barely fit and be within code if I leave the cabinet as is but have the sinks placed all the way at the edge of the sink cabinet, away from the wall. However, that would mean that the sink would not be centered in the cabinet but about 2.5" off center. I guess I could do the same thing on the other side so at least it would be the same. There is only a single door on the sink cabinet so no vertical line that is obviously off center and I was planning on a large mirror over both sinks anyway. Would this look too weird? Maybe the best plan is to go back to the cabinet maker with the code violations and ask him to redo? Thank you so, so much for all the help....See MoreHelp? What’s wrong with my living room?
Comments (20)I would remove the photos altogether as they clash with the wallpaper. I would make the wallpaper wall the focal point of your room by moving the couch to another wall if possible. You could put your TV against the wallpaper wall or mount the TV on that wall. Another option if your budget allows would be to install wall sconces on that wall in place of photos. You could start by taking all photos down and see how the room feels. You could also try a rectangular shaped mirror on this wall....See MoreBeginner needs any advice on light placement in kitchen/living room
Comments (4)OH BOY! well, the dining fixture looks right lol. Im not sure you need penants over that peninsula I dont know why you would want to light up the top of the tv area? I dont know why you would want to light up just behind the sofa area? And Im not sure why you have all these LED strips? Not sure why you would put lights in the beam? you need to have an electrician and a consultant look at this space, so you can get a real plan together. I do not know all the constraints but you would have the most uneven hot spot, shadow making lighting here. How tall are the ceilings? This is not a complex space, nor is it very large, the space in your 3D image appears much smaller than your floor plan. Also, no ones has the coffee table that far from the sofa so I am just not sure you need all the decorative lights you have suggested....See MoreWhat's wrong with this living room?
Comments (11)The rug looks very pink which does not go with the current wall colors (not sure which are the "brown" walls you'll be painting? One looks gold the others look red. I think you could add some richness and grounding the space with a deeper colored rug, as well as the changes to the coffee table and walls. The pics could be hung in a more aesthetically pleasing way. You could use pieces of paper the same size and shape as what you have hung there and tape them to the wall in various configurations until you find one that looks good. Looks like a very pretty home!...See MoreJanice Maxwell
