Thanks mayflowers. I am sure people are tired of looking at my kitchen at this point, but this is such a hard decision, because it is so permanent! The two ideas I am now considering are: (1) your idea of cream tile matching the wall color (though I cannot really find one that truly comes close to the wall color) and (2) still considering a sage green tile, but I feel like that may take away from my green shelves. I am considering square, rectangular sizes/ different layouts of tiles at this point at this point. as for area, I am just considering doing the area under the wall from the cabinet to the left of the stove to under the microwave. May or may not run it up in the corner to the first green shelf. I am also going to leave the area in the third picture without a backsplash (the pic with the glass cabinets).

Thanks Beth! Yes there is lots of that light green color in my island granite. The perimeter granite reads black overall, but it actually has green flecks in it, plus random blue flecks here and there. Hard to capture. My kitchen and well, pretty much the entire rest of the house, unfortunately had to go on the back burner for awhile and never got finished. I need to repaint walls, ceiling, baseboards, and cabinets. I will have to start my own thread one of these days asking for help from you and others to pull everything together. I have learned so much from you already! I have a thread with your cabinet painting instructions saved for when I tackle the cabinets. Your entire house is stunning btw. You have such a talent for design! Sorry @lscheffler86, didn’t mean to hijack your thread. Let me know if you find any backsplash tiles you like and I can try to mock them up for you if you want.

From some online pics, it looks like it's mostly white with some grey and gold veins. So depending on what your floors and cabinets are... go with a grey or gold tone. Maybe the white tone.. might depend on what slabs you pick and how much of the vein colors are in them. How you lay the backspack might depend on the cabinets. Some kitchens look great with a lot of subway, others better with just a little four inch rise of the counter material. Others are smashing with odd shaped tile big or small. Lots to choose from.

with all the surface area .. walls AND cabinets?...in swiss coffee .....how does this all end up.....?? I might put in a creamy white subway that matches the cabinets at this point [ swiss coffee is a nice shade]...just get the grout of a more bisque shade to work with the counter......a very nice subtle detail..... Can you show the overall ?...not just a close up of a sq foot of the counter......how much tiled area.....what is lighting / UV factors...style of space etc.....
