Quartz or quartzite that looks like Carrara marble??

Hi! I’ve been to a dozen slab yards near me and still can’t seem to find a quartz or quartzite that comes even close to looking like Carrara marble! The attached picture is exactly what I’m hoping to emulate, but everything I’ve looked at has either pronounced veining, high contrast, or too much beige or dark grey. I’m hoping to find something that has subtle variations like the marble in the photo and is a light, light grey (or white background w grey). I like the look of Taj Mahal quartzite, too, but it’s too beige for what I’m going for. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!!!

I can’t see the picture, but if what you really want is to look exactly like Carrara marble, then Carrara it is. No matter how much the quartz companies try to emulate marble, it’s not marble. (Don’t get me wrong, there are lots of beautiful quartz patterns, but they won’t fool a marble lover.) And quartzite is quartzite, it really doesn’t look like marble. The closest you might come is Super White quartzite (which isn’t actually quartzite but dolomitic marble), it etches like marble, so if what you really want is Carrara you might as well go for it. We chose Opus White quartzite and I love love love it, but it is darker grey and nothing like marble IMO.

Can you get to Central New Jersey? Go to the MSI showroom. They're lovely, and helpful, and you can see full slabs of of the quartz. If you can, bring one of your cabinet doors. I was having a problem finding the right white since many quartzes I looked at were too creamy. I went there recently and found something I love, and bought, that's new, not even on their website or in any kitchen showrooms I've been to. I bought a piece, Calacatta Bruno, because it's great in my bathroom, but they've got loads. Also, they'll ask who sent you. Have a name ready, like your contractor, or Home Depot, or anything. I think as far as marble look quartz goes, it's about as good as it currently gets. If that's not close enough for you either adjust your expectations or get real marble.

The counter is LG muse, the cutting boards are real marble.

Lisa, what did you end up choosing. I too, LOVE the look of Carrara and nothing gives the same vibe. Locally, they can get me a slab, but it had darker gray, striations that were not what I was looking for and too busy for my tiny kitchen. i need to make a decision soon as my cabinet paint color will be based on the counters. I found slabs on line that were just what I had in mind, but they were marked sold. I suspect that the style that we both like is premium and more expensive.
