Need help in decorating living room.
Comments (6)I would measure the couch to make sure it will fit your space. The lighter trim looks odd and I personally would not buy this set. I would also not buy a matching coffee table. That is really out of date, even though furniture stores offer that kind of thing. Quite often they're a few years behind what is new and fashionable. The best thing to do is to buy something with simple and classic lines that will not look dated. For your space the first thing I would do is buy a large, beautiful rug for your living room and then another one for under your dining table that is large enough that the chairs still sit on them when they're pulled out from under the table. However, you need to determine what your style is. Modern, traditional, country, eclectic? I would go into houzz and look under living rooms and decide what appeals to you. We can't really give you advice if we don't know what you like. Do you like a lot of color or mostly neutral tones? After the rug I would decide on drapes so that the rooms have a softer, warmer look. The colors should go with those in the rug. Obviously if you like a modern style you would pick a modern rug to go with your furniture. If you're more traditional then Oriental rugs would be beautiful. About the TV stand, please make sure that it's longer than the TV on either side so that the whole thing doesn't look so boxy. You can look at on-line sites that have furniture (and also rugs, drapes, pillows etc.) to look at TV stands and really also everything else you need. overstock.com, wayfair and amazon are all good ones to go to that have reasonable prices. The most important part is to find out what your style is so that you buy pieces that are compatible with each other and that give a harmonious, complete look rather than a hodgepodge of different styles and colors that don't go together....See MoreDesperate for Help in Decorating Living Room
Comments (3)Hi Alma, Let's start with your furniture layout. Just to make the room feel better without making major changes move the single recliner out of that corner and to the other side of the sofa on an angle. Then, bring the sofa closer into the room so it lines up with your hall wall and slide the loveseat down closer to the sofa creating a nice spot for a shared end table with a lamp. Position you coffee table so that it is centered on the sofa/love but enough space to open your recliners. If you still have room between the Sofa and chair, Add another table and lamp. Next find curtains that are long enough to just touch the floor. Simple changes can make a big impact....See MoreHelp to decoration living room wall
