A few more from this morning....
Comments (9)Hi Lime :D No, I have perennial Linum perenne lewisii (Blue Flax). The first flush of growth grows to some 3' by almost as wide in it's bloom peak. Next year I think I may let them grow to about 2' and cut them back to about 12" BEFORE they ever bloom. The Echinacea is pretty pink...it's just the common species of E. purpurea. I've never really seen a true purple Coneflower now that I think about it! Always pink to rosy pink almost white. My Echinacea angustifolia(common species) is even paler! But the same species of E. angustifolia back home is a little darker. Common species can have subtle variances depending on geographic location :D I'll try to save seeds for you if you'd like, but cant guarantee no crossing, because I also have 'White Swan' and of course the E. angustifolia. I did move the later last fall further away...about 50 feet, but ya never know LOL! Vera...See MoreA few from this morning
Comments (11)Hi Everyone. Yes we did get the snow yesterday, about the same amount as you got, and I did try to take some pictures but it was so dark my cameras would not hold focus and I could only get decent pictures if they were within 10 feet from me. Here are some from yesterday, followed by a few from this morning. The sun was out and bright today so today's are crisp but now the snow is melted on all their favorite perches. As you said, it is early for snow around here. I will hope for better next time. As you know, it started as rain. The snow blew hard from the north and except when they were looking at me, the birds stared straight into it. This one looks like he was hit with a snowball. OK I'm sure you get the picture. (Pardon the pun.) Here are a few from today. Nothing special. They are just sitting there, probably waiting for meal worms. I don't normally show pictures that have the feeder cage visable in them but this guy looked so regal......See MoreA few from this evening
Comments (8)Thank you Judy and Kublakan. I liked BD already, I am surprised that the blooms have been so large and lasting a long time on the bush too, it's a good rose....See MoreA few quick pics from this evening
Comments (11)Your gardens look so wonderful & bright, Laura! Despite the rain, my coneflowers are really looking faded. But then, it is so hot today I get pretty faded too after I'm out just a few minutes. Your photos really are good & really make the daylilies pop. I was about to ask what that really tall yellow in the background is, bet it is Tetrina's Grand daughter. Really is nice, & I'm not that into yellows. Tetrina's Daughter has sort of a similar look, but not tall & hasn't produced many flowers. Perfect bloom on Tao of Physics, & Atomic Inferno is great....See Moresara_ann-z6bok
