what colors and stone are used on this porch?

I assume you and your buddies purchased this house to flip, right? Does the siding need to be replaced or are you looking strictly for a color change? Based on your OP it looks like you are interested in a color change and that the siding itself is in decent shape. I'm a Realtor and based on my experience (in a totally different market from you), the brick would be much more objectionable than the siding. Check with a local, experienced Realtor in your area to see if the brick would be a buyer turn off or not. If it isn't marketable, consider dying (not painting) the brick a color without so much variance. Others here have more experience with dying brick. Remove the shutters entirely. Change out the garage door to something that is more contemporary and that blends with the new brick color you select. Paint your front door an accent color. Change/update your landscaping. Clean up the stone planter area near the garage door. Trim your trees. Clean your siding. Paint the downspouts the same color and your new siding color if you decide to paint the current siding. Change out those stairway railings to something else - more modern/contemporary. Frankly, I probably would leave the cream color siding you have now and update the other things I mentioned above.

grover - he said gutters and post black, so they'll be painted I guess, but I'd paint them white if they lie against the house. Can't go wrong with a white house and black trim.

Thank you to everyone for your input! It was a tough decision, but BM Rockport Gray won out in the end and we're very happy with it. Any of these colors would've looked great (no "perfect" color, in my opinion) and it was helpful to think about the overall look we wanted. This website is so useful to me, so just wanted to pay it forward with some pointers that may help anyone considering painting their exterior these colors: 1. Rockport Gray is a really pretty "warm" gray. In direct sunlight it looks almost beige-khaki, and in the shade or indirect light is where you see more gray. 2. RG does not clash with our reddish-brown roof! 3. I was surprised how much lighter the color came out to be. We might have been ok going a little darker, but in any case I'm still happy with it. Our original exterior color was so light, so I think that testing RG on top of it made RG seem much darker than it turned out to be. 4. It was really helpful to narrow down all 20 of our "warm gray/ greige" paints to just 3 or 4 samples. The paint chips are great suggestions to point you in the right direction, but after a while they start to look the same and you really don't know until you test it directly where it's going! 5. Our house is east-facing and the roof is multi-gabled, so we needed a color that would work with all sorts of (mostly direct) sunlight angles & roof appearances. We tested various paints in many spots and noticed right away with all paint colors that there's no one "true" shade that came through. Every test area looked different. Another reason why I think we had no "perfect" color! 6. Our trim color is Benjamin Moore White Dove. We wanted something softer/creamier but I think BM Simply White would've looked crisp and really nice as well with Rockport Gray. 7. We're also painting our doors a soft black! One of the reasons we went with RG is because we thought it was the best color to go with black doors, so it was helpful to think about the overall look (siding with trim with doors).
