Cub Cadet LTX1050 no start

My cub started up, but when the PTO engaged it quit and now will not turn over. I can't even get the lights to work. Battery is new, Oil level is correct, PTO is still firmly attached with no broken wires, and the engine can be rotated by hand. The problem for me is that Cub's schematic shows a fuse, but I can't find one. Also, it shows two additional interlocks besides the seat, but they are not located where the parts diagrams show. Can anyone help me out with diagnosing this?

The model is Model # 13AQ91AP010 (LTX1050 KH) and was made in Mar, 2012

You should have a main 30 amp fuse in your primary starter circuit along with pto and reverse interlock switches to go along with your seat interlock !

Thanks for the quck reply. Do you have any idea where it could be? Unless it's inline inside the wire loom, I'm not seeing it.

Engine numbers FJ180VB38181 FJ180V-BS04-R We bought the mower brand new, this is the first time it has ever failed to start. There is a magnet on the flywheel that induces a pulse through the coil. It doesn't flood out with the new coil like it did before. With the old coil the plug was dripping wet with fuel, now with the new coil, I smell fuel on the plug and it's slightly damp with fuel which makes me think that the new coil is working. Scott

Are you sure you put the wires on the solenoid correctly? Sounds like you dislodged a wire, since replacing a starter shouldn't have anything to do with the coils.

Can you confirm that the battery is fully charged? Sometimes when key switches go south there can be some circuits left energized and completely discharge the battery by the next time you try. Even though the engine shut off last time you parked it does not prove there were not some circuits left "live". It only proves the "kill" portion of the switch was working. Did you replace the switch with a "genuine and identical" switch? By that I mean "is this the MTD switch listed as the correct OEM replacement switch? Switches may "look alike" on the outside but inside the switch, the rotary contact disc might be configured to make a circuit to a different external connector lug. If that is the case then the wrong wires get energized and it will not work. Make sure you have a good battery first.

A good next step could be to remove the clutch both to inspect it and note if there is deflection in the shaft. Traction belts chuck out regularly as well. Could this add to your vibration?

Hi Mike , Manual s Lib.Com will provide the info you need for your engine designation eg. Briggs , Onan or Kohle r etc . Just type in your model and serial numbers .

The fuse will be in the + wire on the starter solenoid that runs to the ignition switch.

Ok, I found the fuse tape up next to the starter solenoid. I don't think someone wanted it to be found.LOL 20A fuse was blown. Thanks. BTW, one of the lights broke loose,and fell in front of the engine. The muffler melted through the wires and caused a short.
