Need help choosing coffee table and curtains colors small living area
Comments (23)Wow! Thanks a million for the feedback! it's priceless. Being that the photo is very underexposed due to lighting conditions(which btw i installed dimmers on the fan). thanks again. torreykm: color vs muted..if we go with color i would like to compliment the rug since its so close and muted; it's probably our safer choice. But we are open to suggestions. I like the curtains below. However, for some reason the white looked a bit plain when I installed mine. Yet, the whites you showed me here do have some nice patterns/designs. Where can I look into buying the curtain below? I really like this one. ingrid_vc so/always1: At first i thought about the same thing; round, glass and metal to make the room look bigger/small rug issue. But then I think about how delicate a glass table can be and how it sort of takes away from the cozy. But I suppose I can have it all with a small space :) aprilneverends: I am aboard with the "texture in the space", "more texture more interesting" and embrace your valid toddler analogy. My only issue is the size and perhaps it can dwarf the living room space. But my gut feeling says that the table is so nice that it won't matter. With respect to staying with the color scheme, I can always entertain the accent suggestions. Yet, we will prefer nothing flamboyant; yes we do have botanical motives. Perhaps behind/around the wicker basket area. One thing I forgot to mention is that the windows behind the verticals is a sliding door. So we would like to keep it not to busy in case I need to access my BBQ on the porch :) voila: Thanks for the comment. I promise to post a correctly exposed picture soon( as well as the end result). My wife has travels the world and has beautiful photography which we plan to mount on a large canvas to put behind the sofa. I will try to also include a panoramic view of the living space which included the dinning area where we have a nice florida/coastal style painting. lastly, thanks the curtains in JCpenny look very nice and matches our colors. I was thinking about a turquoise color as well. I will be making a stop today to look at curtains in persons as well as possibly buying the first coffee table on here by the end of the day if I don't come across any others. Keep the feedback coming. Cheers Rob...See MoreBusy curtains dilemma
Comments (48)several ideas: a) going light..texture is somewhat repeating your pattern. you're relying on texture rather than color b) picking up one color from your curtains(btw love them, even love the accent wall while I'm usually not a fan). obviously can be any other color you prefer c) the most daring one-picking up all the colors and introducing some(which can be easily repeated in other accents, to tie it all in). It being a totally different, much calmer patter, will help not to compete with the curtains..and will allow for still being bold with accessories, just as an example: (they're all from Anthropologie so the prices are allover..went with ideas rather than with budget..:) you also need to be mindful of what the rug is made of, technique, etc. some will be more durable, some less, some will require more maintenance than others, some will withstand a lot of traffic some won't..you'll want to make sure you'e picking the rug that suits your lifestyle and the function of your room. and d) one can live happily in a room for years without a rug..especially when he/she has beautiful wood floors that are probably not too cold or slippery etc, and wait until a rug he really likes blinks at him..:) true it's easier to start with the rug but sometimes it happens not in that order, and it's fine too. rooms are not becoming done at once(or maybe they're never fully done-they develop over time), and rug(unlike a mattress for example) is not an immediate necessity. you can take your time on that and still have comfortable and beautiful room I'd never have anything if I started with rugs because every rug I'm ready to commit to is somehow several grands..so I'm willing to wait. I'm even willing to live without a rug happily ever after. I need to really love something big like that..so either it will be in stars, or it won't. (yes I know a lot about second-hand and internet resources like ecarpetgallety..all of these, I highly recommend. Will take time; or one might get lucky and just stumble upon something really soon. You never know. But you won't stumble upon something if you don't look for it really often, that's for sure)) Congratulations on your new house!...See MoreBedding vs Curtain Dilemma
Comments (3)White linen curtains go with anything. Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma carry nice ready-made linen curtains. The linen sheers are on sale at PB now. You can embellish them with trim if you want some color. Also, replace the white blinds with woven wood or bamboo shades for some texture....See MoreCurtain Help! Pattern or Plain?
Comments (11)I happen to like drapes in spaces especially simple modern spaces they soften the look add some texture and in your case could also help with light when watching TV I would choose a gray to match the sofa but in a linen fabric with a bit of texture then add some pillows in colors fromthe rug . I like the rug s colors I think you need that in the space maybe just do two to make it work . I do agree a round coffee table wold be a good choice with that sofa. You need lamps for sure and you might eventhink about pulling the sofa away from the window and adding a sofa table behind wide enough to fit all along the back so you might need 2 then put the lamps on there it will also give you a spot for a drink and then you would not need endtables.I think the space could use some wood and a good place is for the coffee table and the sofa table . Pull the sofa roward far enough to allow the drapes to hang nicely and it gives a very nice backdrop to the lamps and sofa table. You have lots of space from what I can see....See MoreRelated Professionals
