granite counter top seam "feel"
Comments (3)As I said, the appearance doesn't so much bother me as much as the unevenness and gritty feel do. Will the material used in filling the seam wear out over time?...See Morequartz countertop seam acceptable?
Comments (4)thank you for your feedback! what do you recommend to solve the problem? here is one more photo so you can see the location, right by the window so the seam is very visible in the light...See MoreAre these quartz countertops seams standard/acceptable?
Comments (1)Place a straightedge over the seam please. I'll bet it rocks. If it does, that means the pieces are out of plane to each other and that the bottom of the seam edges are touching first, keeping the top from ever meeting inconspicuously and creating the wide seam. Let's see a picture of the front edge seam close up please. If the seam is high, that's going to wear unevenly and look bad over the years. A do-over may be possible depending on your layout, but that's a real PIA. I'd cut it apart, dress the cut edge with a Seam Phantom, put the tops in plane, and pull them together with Gorilla Grips. Nice color match on the adhesive....See MoreHelp! Is this seam in quartz countertop acceptable??
Comments (11)It's not horrible; the whites are some of the most difficult seam inconspicuously. I'm betting that's not factory color match adhesive. Place a straightedge over the seam please. It shouldn't have a gap and if it rocks, the pieces are out of plane to each other and the bottom of the seamed sides are touching, making it impossible to pull the top of the seam together tightly. The sink can be dropped and the seam sawn apart fairly easily and mess-free; I've done this. Put the pieces on plane, use factory color match adhesive, and pull it together with Gorilla Grips....See Moresmitrovich
