Canvas art placement
Comments (2)I completely agree with Roseabbey. I have a huge canvas painting that fills one entire wall in my living room - you can see a portion of it in this photo. (Admittedly, my room is small!) This pic is an old one, as the sofa has now changed positions and sits in front of the windows and there's a chair and table in its place. I think artwork "goes" wherever you want it to go, and there are no hard and fast rules about having to hang anything over the sofa....See MoreLooking for opinions on art placement
Comments (37)DonâÂÂt care for the floor lamp - it feels disconnected from the table and art. I would move the table to the right, so that the table is just a couple of inches left of the painting, and put the lamp on the right side of the table - basically, the opposite of your first arrangement, tho without the edge of the table lining up with the edge of the art. I think your art needs to come down half the distance that is there now between it and the table. Then I would look for a lamp that is a bit taller, with a shade that is angled, to pick up on the shape of the roof in the art. By having the lamp on the right, it also works with the natural shadows in the painting, as if it is helping to create those shadows. Maybe a lamp something like this? It has the black simple lines in the frame of the art, and the coffee table in front of the couch, and even the legs of the table, but is more open to make it not feel too bulky or in the way of the art. But I believe it is taller than what you were showing us in your first pix: metal cage lamp Other than the lamp, once you move the art down I donâÂÂt think you need anything else on the table. Would love to see something else in the room, perhaps a throw or pillows on the couch, to pull some of the great colors from the art into the space. As for the art over the couch, if you are getting another couch, I would just wait to make any decisions about what more is needed or how to hang that ....See MorePet bowls and art placement.
Comments (19)Walnut - Your'e welcome. Hope you can get them sooner than later. I just didn't know if it was strange since my bowls were right at the side entrance. Walk in and hello cat food bowls as the first thing, lol. At least they're pretty now! I unexpectedly bought this oil pastel yesterday and played move the art around when I got home. This is now in my foyer and the colors pull colors from the living room and look nice from the hall view. Still have to get the stubborn leftover sticker residue off. This painting was in the foyer and, while I really like it, didn't really add anything to the area. I think the blue bowls pull blue from the painting and the plummy browns pull the dark laundry paint color, BM Caponata. Laundry room is a mess right now or I'd post from that angle. I think the color and detail of the art look better IRL....See MoreNeed advice on Wall Art placement and Size of Art
Comments (16)@groveraxle I really, really like your placement of artwork with the four pieces!! Thank you very much for your input!! Would you say that the 2 smaller black and white pieces are 8x10 frames? I'm trying to figure out what size of frames and the 2 larger canvases are, so I can make this look happen! Also, do you happen to know where the floating shelf below the tv can be purchased? Or something similar? You made my morning with your help!!!...See MoreMrs. S
