Comments (13)Thanks so much guys! Yep, another year older, very bittersweet this year. Chase was looking for a good butter-tart recipe last year and I posted Mom's. She made them, loves the recipe and expressed her thanks to Mom. I'm sorry to say that Mom passed on August 1. We were extremely close and it's not easy for me. Comments (46)Thank you so much for all of the wonderful birthday wishes!!! Eccentric, I've been wondering where you've been! I was going to post a Where is eccentric post. Today was a GREAT day. I got some awesome presents from hubby. Some were kitchen-related (naturally!) and also a beautiful multi-chained necklace. And some money which we'll use to get me some jeans and pants. God I hate clothes shopping but it's time to do it. We spent the day in the town where Luckygardnr lives. It's an arty-fartsy tourist town, and we had a great time. Had beef-barley soup and fish and chips for lunch and we're still full. Gave Lucky a call and she and her DH were home so we went around for a nice visit. All in all a fantastic day. Comments (24)Oh wow! Thanks for all the wonderful birthday wishes!!!! I get warm fuzzies reading them! LOL DH took me out for breakfast to a really cool mom and pop place. We went by it a while ago and said we had to try it out. So we did. We're going to go there for lunch/dinner sometime soon too. They are renowned for their homemade fish and chips (homemade batter, fries and coleslaw and tarter sauce). A fellow at the table near us had a milkshake and it came in the metal container with the large milkshake glass....the real thing!!!! Anyway, don't know if you remember, a while ago I posted a thread wondering if your mom does what mine does. She's been giving me presents early, things to try on, and just because I'm over there visiting, so she gives me a present while I'm there. Well today, I got the goodie bag with more stuff in it. AND there was also a polo shirt for DH "so he doesn't feel left out." Hahahahahahaa!!! Anyway, it was a great day! Thanks so much dear friends, I do appreciate your kind thoughts and wishes.
