I like the coziness of these two balconies, but it would completely block the outdoor storage doors and I don't think it'd be easily movable.

i would definitely block those doors. Any furniture you put out there would be easily movable enough to get it out of the way to open those doors.

@sheepla That’s what I was thinking – there’s no room anywhere else. Any ideas for what type of furniture? Benches would be easily movable provided they aren’t heavy, but I’m not sure how comfy it would be to have free-standing pillows against the wall. Also, the note budget friendly the better!

Oooh I like the chaise idea! I wonder if I could fit two so that that my boyfriend and I could cuddle up. What about if we wanted to host guests - any other suggestions? Maybe a bench further down the balcony?

Not a pro, but the guardrails not being attached at the top caught my eye immediately. Hope that's up to your local code standards as usually those are strict, being a critical health/safety issue. Perhaps a colorful tile round side table between two coordinating chairs would create a small sitting area and fill in the corners with potted plants.

A diy YouTube channel I follow did a tiny balcony and used chaises (with sturdy legs under the ends) as a sofa so it’s a chaise when it’s just one person but it can be a sofa/ bench when entertaining by adding more throw pillows. If you are interested search “sorrygirls deck” on YouTube.... anyway building on the previous posts if you had 2 chaises with sturdy legs when you have more people coming over you could make a sectional!

Any ideas for a nice rug? I have a Pygmy/dwarf palm in a pot and I’m planning on getting another two just to give a little bit of privacy without blocking it off entirely. It’s 6am and I was going to sleep in for a couple of hours, but now I’m too excited!

I'm having trouble finding chaises/loungers that are sturdy enough to be used as benches, while still being light enough to move around without it being a two person effort. Is there any way we can reinforce a lounger when using it as a bench? I'm also trying to not to spend a ton of money, because we're renting and it isn't our forever home. The usual dilemma!

EDIT: I just realized the type of lounger I was looking for won't fit in the space, so that opens up a lot more possibilities - I may not need to have to use that particular piece as a bench after all, so that eliminates that problem! The heft and price are my main contenders.
