Comments (13)I am having the toughest time trying to convince my dh that we don't need to set up our new TV in the one bedroom that the four of us are living in. (in-laws basement spare room). You should see this room, it's packed with stuff. It is jammed packed w/ everything that I, dh, 2 kids and one dog need and the last thing it needs is a bigscreen TV...I guess this is the downside of shopping early :) he is really grieving about it. One of the things we did when we started this whole building process was budget in the toys we wanted for our new home. We made a big wish list of about $20,000 worth of items and prioritized them. As we upgraded the actual house we have deducted the $$ from the wish list that we were willing to sacrifice so now we're down to about $10,00 for our toys. Of course, we never even considered putting the TV on the chopping block. Tragusa "By the way, My wife was having morning coffee on our back porch this week and a coyote came into the back yard. Neat." OHHHHH I can't wait!!!!!...See MoreSo, so, so close...now I need help with the last big decision
Comments (26)divamum, it was crazy fast, once it finally got rolling! I sat with a big empty box of a room for about three weeks waiting for the cabinet guy. But once he started installing, that meant Joshua could come put in my soapstone, and everything else just fell into place very quickly. I went from NOTHING to almost everything in literally 48 hours. I think that, by the end of this week, I'll be done with everything in the kitchen, except of course the backsplash! :) malhgold, the range is an Aga Legacy--and the gas is finally turned on!! Woohooo!! Wouldn't you know it, though, I have to teach tonight and then I'm going out of town for two days, so I won't be able to actually cook on it until Friday. Ugh!! fern4, the wood is cherry in a natural finish. Thanks so much for the McIntyre link. There are some beautiful options there. I will have to spend some time perusing! plllog, one of my first choices was a pale green glass tile with a little cobalt glass thrown in for accent pieces. I may have to revisit that. If I can find the pics again, I'll post them. I'm loving these suggestions. Sometimes my head gets stuck on one thing and, even though I know it's not what I want, I can't move past it. This is really helping me think outside my self-imposed box....See MoreGutting kitchen and so many decisions I need help here as a newbi
Comments (1)This is not the question you are asking, but are you saying that the addition has a Diameter of 8 feet? Or a standard ceiling height of 8 feet with 5-ft tall windows? An 8 foot diameter floorspace in in kitchen is not large enough for a dining area unless it has built in seating around it with a table in the center--and this isn't too convenient for seating because people have to get up to let others leave the table....See MoreKitchen...so far
Comments (8)The granite is Yellow River. Didn't mention but thinking of a more basic beige tile backsplash with silver insents to go with the SS appliances...either that or use the extra granite for the backsplash. That along with the LED under counter lighting should add a nice touch...See More3katz4me
