Last night and today I haven't been able to comment--for awhile I couldn't even sign in. I'm doing the hotel hunt and really needed a break, so I came here to read. Couldn't comment. Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi there! I’m desperately hoping someone can help me with my poor suffering Meyer lemon! I’ve had this young tree for about 15 months, and periodically it sprouts a batch of brown spots out of nowhere. They all show up at once, a bunch of leaves are murdered and then the tree seems fine for a few more months. This has happened three or four times; it seems to appear a few weeks after each bloom and I thought maybe fertilizer could be a culprit but I’ve only fertilized 3 times and not always in sync with the bloom. I’m in Zone 10a, in Oakland, California. It’s a Mediterranean climate, rarely above 80 degrees and the coldest nights barely dip below 40. There are thriving mature Meyers all over my neighborhood. My tree is on a southwest facing balcony, and gets plenty of sun and a regular breeze. We’re under another balcony which provides rain shelter but means the tree is also not exposed to a ton of rainwater. We have soft water here in Oakland but about six months ago I switched to distilled water in an attempt to correct this problem. I’ve also tried copper fungicide (weekly for a couple of months per the advice of the website where I bought the tree) but that seems to have had no effect. I water when the moisture meter is below 4 and give it at least a gallon of water, until water drains out the bottom but I fear I should actually be giving this plant many gallons and flushing the soil more at each watering. I potted this in citrus/cactus soil and I drilled extra drain holes but I also think maybe the soil is staying too wet at the bottom (even though the top is bone dry.) The first time this happened I thought maybe it was sun scald but it’s just not very hot out; the spots appeared this time after a long stretch of temps in the 60s, maybe a day or two in the 70s. I THINK maybe this is salt damage, due to soil not draining enough/residual fertilizer/old tap water deposits. Do you think I am right about this? My plan is to take out the tree, gently replace the soil, flush the roots and trim any rotten roots if I see them, and return it to this pot. I’m thinking of using a mix of vermiculite, organic cactus mix soil, and worm castings, then to continue fertilizing with worm castings instead of commercial fertilizer. Is this a good idea or could I be missing something? ‘ I’ve attached an image of the tree blooming about six weeks ago, and browning now (that probably started about a week ago). And I’ve attached some close-up images of the leaves. (I have a few leaf-miner marks but that seemed to be minimal, just a handful of leaves.) I would be grateful for anyone’s advice on how to stop this browning from hurting my beloved tree! Thank you so much!!!

Your tile has seams. No reason to think that this is any different. Just change your perspective. It's not like you're trying to make it look like the entire shower was carved from a single block of stone, right? It's really pretty and nobody is going to ding you for having a seam.

@HU-209442526 this is my dilema too but the opposite! i wanted surfside bc it's more blue but was told it's discontinued. so i decided on serentiy but it looks too green to me! haven't ordered yet... i have read if youre going with cool tones you should use cool tones throughout but i don't know if i believe that. i would talk to a lighting specialist. or have you already resolved this and if so what did you decide?

There is definitely been water up there. I see several wet places, and the rafters etc around the chimney have big water spots on them. That chimney definitely needs to be checked to see if it needs new flashing. Water runs down hill from a leak, and then comes out where it gets a point of entry.

I'm having some significant problems today too. The format of forums is randomly changing every time I click around, and I've been unable to post in a few forums. Clearing my cache isn't working, and it's happening across 2 different browsers.

Hot Topics seems to be a bigger un-moderated free-for-all than usual too. Seems the cat is away and some mice are having a field day.....

Well, I spoke too soon. Right after I posted (and probably cleared history,) I wasn't able to comment again. Same this morning until right after I wrote yet again to Houzz. I just received a reply asking me to send a screenshot, but I don't have the problem at this time.

The only problem I have had is unable to post pictures occasionally. Everything else has been normal but I have not been on that much lately. I think a lot has to do with if you come in with the gardenweb.com address or the houzz.com one. I always use the gardenweb. For example this is the current address in my browser for this thread

Well it’s not unmoderated over here and I haven’t had any problems (I will knock on wood here).

My post about mdln’s post was deleted the other day, again I suppose because she dared to repost the link about doctors and their issues. Apparently the person with the problem didn’t read beyond the first paragraph or two because the remainder of the article was totally unrelated to the lead-in sentences.

Why don’t you, whoever you are, reveal yourself and state your issue?

I always come in on gardenweb.com. Doesn't matter. I keep getting switched back and forth between GW and Hoazz. It's almost dizzying. The font and layout switches back and forth with each click of the mouse. And like sjerin, I keep losing the comment box....

I don't know what they fixed... but for several days now when I click on my link (in favorites) for KT, I don't get KT. I get other forums on H. What is the problem? Today it has gone to several other forums. I tried to find that Hot Topic forum but couldn't find it on the list to the left of the screen. it wasn't listed and I scanned thru them all.

just not easy to find other forums on here. It's become a pain.

I thought it was just me. I have the KT bookmarked. I clicked on that bookmark, and it took me to another forum and I wasn't logged in. I logged in but still nothing. After I closed out Firefox and then reopened, it's been okay ever since. I hope it stays fixed. I hate when I want to take a quick break, only to have all kinds of problems.

Huh. The box just this second appeared, though it wouldn't for the last few hours. Apparently the IT gals and guys are on vacation. So frustrating.

I clicked on that bookmark, and it took me to another forum.

earlier today when I managed to get to KT I resaved the link and just now when I clicked on it, it did pull up KT. maybe the links got changed. I'll see if it still brings me here tomorrow.

I just went looking for Hot Topics and it seems to have left the building. Houzz seems to be a real mess these days. My type is still tiny and pictures are still very small. I'm getting tired of the nonsense.

Now I'm beginning to wonder if they are thinking about consolidating some forums. For instance, The Kitchen Table has "Home and Garden Discussions" as its title on my computer, once opened it has KT. ?? No conversation side for HD either.

Schoolhouse - HD conversations is still there. Lars just cross posted with it. :) Click on his thread and then you should be able to get to HD conversations from there.

I don't think there is a method to the madness. The wheels are coming off the bus for some reason but I don't think any of this is purposeful actions. Seems to be some coding and bug issues.

They fixed it. :)
