Good luck with it, Su! I think traffic will pick up as people become aware of it as a resource. But do be sure once you have it as fully stocked as you can get it in a few weeks, to advertise it on Facebook or other forums as much as you can. I've also used Etsy's promoted listings and it does help increase traffic hits, but I haven't actually made any additional sales due to it. Also make sure you check out the Etsy forums because people are friendly and happy to help you with tags, descriptions, general advise. And of course I'm happy to help, too!

Probably a good idea is to get a leaf from his original plant - if he still has it - the cross was made in 2004 - so a long time for a genetic drift created by a vegetative propagation - leaf - from a leaf - from a leaf. I just imagine somebody will start complaining about plants not being stable Gesneriads are not stable, period. They are evolving in front of our noses. They respond fast to a change of the conditions - and if you walk into the locality where Primiulina species are growing - you can find a noticeable variation within 100 plants growing in one cave. Another cave 50 miles from the first cave - and the difference is evident to the point that you doubt that it is the same species. I.

wow, love pink stuff; those epi's in baskets they look like 'Cleopatra'! I got one in jan. I see you got piper: I got one too and it needs to be kept wet, otherwise it wilts fast... it's my second time, so I asked the guy how to keep it. mostly it needs wet and high humidity. I let it dry once after 5 mo of doing good (produced only 1 leaf after 4 mo, ultra slow growing)..and it dropped all leaves. i'm keeping left over stems wet under dome: it's regrowing a few tiny leaves. and that dotted little begonia next to it - isn't it a rare one for terrarium too? love it!

Personally I would remove a leaf and plant it as a backup to make babies - then just put it outside. It'll probably be fine if you have it elevated well off of the ground and slip potted into a heavier pot that won't easily get knocked over by the wind. I have all of my larger gesneriads outside that are too large for the shelf. In hanging baskets or pots. My Sinningia 'Gabriel's Horn', my sinningia speciosa 'Kaiser Frederick', my Kohleria 'Elvira', my Sinningia 'Peridot's Sand Pebbles', my columnea 'Early Bird', my sinningia 'Amanda's Penny', and several more. They are all doing fine and get morning sun, then shade on the front deck the rest of the day.
