Would love your help in styling my entryway

I live right by the beach and my home is decorated with a coastal vibe. I am trying to update my entryway. Home is done in mostly blues and some greens. These are 3 pictures I’ve found online that could work above the 40” table. First one is 26W x 18H Second is 24W x 36H Third 30 x 30

i think if I used second or third I’d need a larger piece on table (where bird is now)

The small basket on table are for our keys. Basket underneath holds dog’s leashes.

Any opinions will be appreciated. Thank you

What a fun project. I have a few thoughts that are really just my opinion and shared with very good intentions and hoping the best for your project. I am assuming that your ceiling height is 8ft and the wall length is approximately 8ft as well. I find that oversized pieces are more dramatic and bring colour into a space without clutter or too much contrast. I would lean toward the large piece (#3) simply because it is oversized but I have one concern and that is your hall table. You can use multiple pictures but they should be same size and frame so that they group reads as one large piece (see example below).

I think it may be too low and small in scale for the space and for a larger piece. I think the console could be low and wider with a heavier scale (like a bench) or taller and wider to support the art and perhaps a basket with towels or a dry flower arrangement (assuming you don't have a curious pet or small children). I have attached some pics of lighter finished wood.

Finally beach themes can be less literal. The use of colours and textures that remind one of ocean side, "beachy" places with a few references work really well too. You have already incorporated blues which is a great start, natural woods, linen and sandy colours will give you the same feeling and be very elegant. You could even add some panel moulding to the pace to add texture. Nothing too elaborate but an extra layer of details to finish off the space.

Don't be shy with lighting and other accessories (e.g. baskets) a hook for a hat and light shawl (all complimentary in colour). This will help you to bring some of the colours in your home to the front door or be bold and paint out your door! Entries are so much fun. Good Luck!H

Raro, when you get to your next alternative universe, make sure you look on eBay. :-) That's where I found my sink. I was on eBay every few days for a couple of months but at last, there it was, and I got it for a touch over $1200, which isn't bad when you consider what a new "farmhouse" sink WITHOUT a drainboard or backsplash costs (see link below). You may have to search a zillion different ways; I had searches that looked like this: vintage sink -doll -dollhouse -toy -bath -bathroom -powder or antique sink -doll -dollhouse -toy -bath -bathroom -powder ...but it ended up paying off. Thank you tnfarmhousefixin! I agree the gallery wall looks off. If I do keep the family photos, it needs to be completely redone. And yes to bringing the pics closer together! We do not enter/exit through the front door. Like ever. We come in and out though out garage Front door if pretty much only for visitors/guests. Are you suggesting a table on one of the walls that flanks the dining room? I just don't think that will work bc it's a main walkway. However, I am interested in replacing the entry way table I already have. That one is just a little small. (It's "original Thomasville, lol, from my parents! Easily 40 years old:)

I honestly don't think it looks like it needs tons of improvements. How desperately do you want folks to be able to see what's in the cabinets? I'm sure in real life they look clearer than from the photo. The thing I think most detracts from the look are the small black speakers on top. You say they are moving, are they needed? If so, they would look better on that top shelf than on top against the light wall. If they blend into the background of the dark top shelf, so much the better. Is navy part of your color scheme? If not, I would try to find something more neutral to cover the bottom doors, maybe some type of grasscloth? Or just paint or stain the wood underneath. Can't quite figure out what is up with them.

Your home is beautiful and your taste is stellar. You have purchased the perfect scale of chest for the space and now need some height and details. First and easiest thing to add are tassels to the knobs on your draws. I would choose a metallic colour or a pick up on one of the accent colours in your other rooms. A mirror is always nice but at the lower height it might be frustrating to use. But if you have enough room a round mirror would be nice or even a picture with a slight ornate frame. Definitely opt for shiny or glossy finishes to reflect light in the space. Pretty, practical, objects for holding keys or storing scarves or umbrellas would be very nice. Add a lamp if you can. Something oversized and pretty that will help to create a warm atmosphere for the space. Something textural, metallic or crystal and don't forget a spot for flowers. A handful of carnations or hydrangeas or warm autumnal flowers are always pretty. Or if that is too much work a sedum or cacti are a good choice. Single Lamp off centre will balance out a low, voluminous object on the opposite side. If you want something more masculine, introduce blacks and metals and natural materials. Maybe a chair in a darker tone, especially in velvet or a textured fabric. Have fun. You have excellent taste and you have designed a gorgeous home.

Hello! A mirror would look lovely above the console, or maybe an oversized long one on the opposite wall, flanked by some tall plants. Mirrors are always good bets for entry way, and with both walls and no window there, it will open up the space somewhat. I love the suggestions from the person above!

Diana, there is a closet directly across from table and then wall ends. My front door is always open if I am home (glass door is there) and I get a lot of light there. I do keep some plants there during winter months when I take them inside from my Porch. Appreciate your suggestion and stopping by to help
