If Dulux has a similar app as the one Beverly shared, I would try theirs since Dulux is the leading paint manufacturer in the UK. Here's a screen cap of their ochers.

Another good bet is Farrow & Ball. Thinking perhaps Brinjal, Pelt or Mahogany? If your friend can capture the actual wall colour, that would be ideal.

Thanks to both of you! I actually tried the SW app yesterday and it came up with SW Black Fox which at the time seemed too dark/black, but upon second look and comparing it to Rockweed I now think it might be what I'm looking for. Only way to find out is to get a sample and try it. Thanks for prompting me to give that another look!

Look at Behr "Cup of Cocoa". We used that color a few times and it was such a great shade.

Look at SW Sealskin, it is more brown than Black Fox. I used it on an exterior fence and it is a great color.

FYI Beverley, I'm waiting for some folks at F&B to get back to me. I emailed them the photos of the room I'm trying to match. So far the closest I can see from their website is Tanner's Brown. I'm anxious to see what they come up with.

I kept going back and forth between Black Fox and Sealskin. The sealskin leaned more towards brown, which is what I was going for.

Side by side on screen that is exactly what I can see too. Black Fox seems too Black, I need it to be more brown. And Side by Side with the photos of the room I'm trying to match, Sealskin looks very close. Still, one can never tell until the sample is on the wall. Thanks so much for your help! Fingers crossed this works! I have purchased no less than 5 samples, plus a quart of the Coconut Husk which I used on the one wall, decided it would do, then went back for a gallon. Now I'm second guessing that color which has led me to where I am now. This is a very risky color so i'm okay with taking the time and expense to get to that "happy place".

I ended up painting my room SW Sealskin and I'm pleased but on the fence about whether it was the best choice. Its quite dramatic and very unusual, which as an artist I prefer. For the first day or so it "seemed" somewhat brown, now it feels like more of a dark charcoal in the daytime, black at night. I decided to cover the walls in art, which is a look I love, to somewhat diminish the dark wall color. I'd like to point out that the chandy is nearly brand new, from Pottery Barn, and came with crystal beads and I didn't "love" it when I first had it installed. Then I saw the new painted wood beads chandy's in Shades of Light catalogue so for a relatively low cost (altho much labor!) I purchased wood beads, painted and distressed them, and replaced the crystal strings in my PB chandy with these wood (Amazon) and crystal beads (Etsy). I love it now! The chandy's like this at SoL are upwards of $900. I think I have about $500 in mine, all totaled.

Thanks @ilikefriday ! No, not brown at all, which I had wanted but I'm okay with it. The room gets enough light in the daytime and great ambiance at night. Can't wait to host my first dinner party in there!

Oh do you really @ilikefriday ?!!! That is a VERY special and huge piece I had to make in pottery school some years ago and its not very well done. LOL! I am a working artist (pottery obviously) now and that necklace she's wearing is one of my creations though I don't create much jewelry. Mostly painted and/or sculpted pieces in Shaffordshire or French Faience style.

I have taken pottery classes. Never got the hang of it, at all. I was a complete failure. You are clearly very talented. How tall is that white vase?

I can't remember how tall but is at least 24". Our assignment was to make it around that. It was created with 3 separate wheel thrown pieces that were then stacked together. This was also fired in a gas kiln.

Oh and I pretty much suck at wheel throwing now, so don't feel bad. Its extremely difficult to master. I don't do much wheel throwing these days. Most of my work is hand sculpted.

Wow. That is big. I think it is just stunning and so is your space. There is so much of it that I love. The rug is fab. The dark paint. The art filled walls. The ornate frames. You have done a spectacular job.

Hi!! I love your walls! What color paint did you use for trim and ceiling?

Thanks! I'm still trying to decide how I feel about it. A dark color works best in rooms with more light. This room faces North and has a covered porch in front of the windows so tends to be a bit gloomy. Im thinking I'll leave the gallery wall black and do the other walls in off white. As for the ceiling and trim, nothing special, just regular ceiling paint and soft white satin on the trim that I had custom mixed at Ben More when we did a large remodel - new kitchen and all the wood trim in 2012, before moving into our home.
