Is spring really on its way this year??
Comments (74)Nice photos! We've been cold and have had lots of snow/sleet events here, but never more than about 2"(5cm) in any one event and even though it's been so cold most of the snow/sleet manages to melt off just before the next round hits, so no big build up. The ground is currently like the tundra, with a thin mushy mess of mud and water on top of frozen ground and no acorns germinating outside. treeguy123, that's a good idea. I've kind of done that for some time, but I always end up getting too busy with other things that my list only gets about 1/2 to 2/3 done. Interesting to see henbit is in full bloom, but here henbit will bloom virtually any time during the winter we have a stretch of sunny days warmer than the mid to upper 20's with peak bloom happening in early March. Although this year, I won't be surprised if it's not until May sometime! Another brutal 20°F(11.1°C) below normal day today, but some possible signs of having some normal temperatures in the coming week(temps in the 50'sF(10-15C)) or even warmer! It's just not right when we were colder than the freakin North slope of Alaska 2 days last week! I mean come on! That's 2500 miles(4023km) North of here and 4125 miles(6639km) away in the Arctic Circle! If I went that far South of here, I'd by in the middle of the Amazon, why don't we get Amazonian weather blowing up here in February? LOL...See Morepics of fall.
Comments (41)It is amazing that family reunion takes so long in this country. They all say that family comes first, and it seems like they prioritize in everything except family. I am glad, Maria, that you found solace in your flowers while you had the pain in your life and that now your daughters also enjoy playing around with your flowers. They feel that the flowers are special to you, and even though they cannot be switched for them ever, you found a common ground you will always be able to connect, no matter what. There is a saying in Hungary: One who loves flowers cannot be a bad person. I truly believe this. We've became such a tight little group here, it is almost a second family. I don't get as much attention of my old family as I get from you, even though you don't even know who I am....See MoreA Few Pics of Thrift Shop 'Finds' for Future T'scaping!

Comments (25)Hey, girlie. I figured I'd wait until tomorrow after Juan places it over the floor and I get the little pots on. Pictures tomorrow evening for sure. Re a mini Cleo - what's wrong w/a life-size one? Shea has requested a pink flamingo for her garden. Think I can do that? I have light pink dishes. I'm just not all that good about sculptures, but come tomorrow, I'm gonna give it a try. Been doing a little gardening, and now that I'm almost finished, w/start another lath/concrete project. I bought cement and sand - got tired of using mortar mix - just doesn't give a smooth finish....See Moreglenda_al
