The bottom picture I would say is almost certainly black rot. Use Google image search and compare the pictures you find there. Those little black spots are benign in some varieties, my Chambourcin always has them. Or maybe they are small spots of black rot? I don't know about the leaf curling, many things can do that. I would look carefully for signs of bugs or other disease -- leafhoppers and powdery mildew are two potential causes of leaf curl. What have you been spraying? Those grapes are vinafera types and are not disease-resistant at all. I spray my vinafera every week this time of year. Black rot is one of the worst grape diseases, it will cause all of the fruit to rot. If you don't have a regular spray program you need to do some research and set one up. Or pull those varieties and try some more disease-resistant ones. Scott

'Looks like an eight-spotted forester. They make beautiful little moths If there are wild grapes in your area, moving them to those wild vines would be the best thing to do. Just cut off the leaves they're on and put them on the wild vines. I thought I had a picture of an adult moth, but I could only find this picture of a caterpillar - They have an odd method of making their pupa - they burrow into soft wood. Linda, I cut a green (not dormant) vine about as round as a pencil, approx. 12" long with at least 3 nodes. I cut the vine with the bottom node as the bottom of the cutting. Make sure you know which is the top and the bottom of the cutting. I immediately soak the bottom node just to make it damp enough so the rooting powder sticks to it and plant it in a small pot filled with potting soil with the bottom node and wood in the soil up to the next node. I have a 14" pot that I put 5 cuttings in, Another 8" pot that I put 4 cuttings into, etc. I have pots for all varities of grapes labeled. I keep the soil moist but not soaked. I make sure the pots are in the sun long enough to keep warm but not hot. In a few weeks you will see green from the exposed nodes. Linda, this is what I do with complete success but I would suggest googling propagating from grape cuttings to find out the proper way. I'm probably doing a half dozen things wrong but it works for me. Good luck, John

bad.. you post has nothing to do with the TEN YEAR OLD ORIGINAL ... next time.. start a new one.. with an appropriate title.;.. i dont know why you would want a weed grape.. on a fancy arbor ... i would suggest you invest $20 mail order .. on a named variety.. that will provide you with sublime grapes.. for the rest of your life .. for the purpose you want to accomplish ... and i would suggest.. you visit the fruit forum..and quiz those experts on what to grow.. for what purpose.. in your area ...or talk with a local winery in your area .... as west MI is rather well know for their fruit crops ... if you want a concord grape.. then buy a quality named concord grape... not some weed grape that shot out the butt of a bird... and may or may not end up a valuable grape for making.. lets say jelly ... or wine ... i live over in adrian MI ... home of the raisin river ... the indians and the french used to eat wild raisins found along the banks .... and with hundreds of miles to harvest ... the 1/2 inch grapes were worth something ... again.. let me suggest.. they might not be a great crop.. on one arbor.. in one backyard ... and unfortunately .. you will have invested 5 years in growing such.. before you find out ... invest in a quality cultivar.. and you will be rewarded ... good luck ken ps: you might also want to research the strength of your arbor ... as a grape vine.. left to ramble.. can crush.. many a structure ...
