Rug help for entry & long hallway. Tan tile hell!

Living in a rental apartment full of tan walls and tan tile. I’d love to put rugs in the hallway and entry to break up the boring tan, give my feet a break from the hard tile, and help my dog stop sliding into walls.

The hallway is about 25’ and opens into the living room and kitchen on the left. Bedrooms, office, laundry, guest bathroom are all off of this. I’m struggling with where the runner should end on the side that opens into the living room. You’ll see in the picture that the hallway tile extends past the walls (living room to left, kitchen to right). I imagine the rug should end before this opening?

The entryway opens right into this hallway and is roughly 9’. Would a rug in both places be too much?
Pictures are:

  1. From hallway looking at front door. Cameo of my dog. (I know this rug is too small for the space, but something was needed for dirty shoes!)
  2. Front door to hallway
  3. Living room looking down the hallway

I hope I haven’t been too confusing and I appreciate any input!
