Interior window finishes - mixing wood grain frames with painted trim

I have just installed wooden windows and would like to keep the natural woodgrain finish on the interior side of the windows. The trim and ledges surrounding the windows is done in a paint grade wood, however.

Would it be advisable to keep the wood finish on the windows and paint the window trim and ledges OR would it be better to keep both the windows and the trim consistent ie. paint both?

If I paint the trim and keep the woodgrain on the windows, what colour should I paint the trim and ledges? Also, would applying beeswax to the raw wood be an advisable way to protect the raw wood window frames?
