I've never seen two tier cutlery trays in a Tandembox (Ikea) Blum drawer. I may have to make my own. I have these drawers now, as internal drawers, with a low panel front. Currently, two internal drawers, one above the other, occupy cabinet height of 7.25" - 7.5"h. I'd like to equip one with a two level cutlery tray. Then, that drawer would take up 3.5" or 4" in height. And I could put the other internal drawer in another cabinet. Net: space saving. More room. StorageRaum. Having only one drawer's wood floor panel is a height savings of more than 1/2" to start. Yes, the floor of a 2 tier tray combo is a bit harder to access. I don't see it as a problem; it's one more movement in the same direction (in-out). Also, the floor level of a 2 tier tray combo leaves room for only about 1.5" high. It could hold other things I rarely use. (a formal dining set with fish knives, butter knives etc.) Web searching, I have found that some of the two-tier trays out there cost more than the entire Tandembox drawer. What the ?

Isn't that annoying, a2gemini? If I'd known beforehand that RAS provides Schuler with their organizers....*&^%$! Since my problem is not just that it needs cutting to fit perfectly (as it is too small, depth-wise ) but also that two of them are divided in such a way that there is no space for long cooking utensils like turners and spoons and spatulas, I just *have* to return them.

It works! I saw this thread last week, and decided to plan in some of those hidden drawers into our kitchen plan. DH liked the idea but needed a bit of convincing evidence, so this morning we went to Ikea. We brought some masking tape and a couple of flat magnets and asked one of the kitchen staffers for an ok. We tried your "fix" in one of the showrooms, using the masking tape to secure the magnets. After changing out one of the magnets for a stronger one and after a try or two, YES: we were able to predict which drawer would be visible when opened. It really did feel like magic. The kitchen staff and other customers were impressed too and everybody wanted to give it a try as well. Lots of laughter and oohing and aahing. We had quite the little magic show at Ikea today! :-) Thanks Pippa for sharing this.

Yes, but you will probably have to replace the drawer box. Your exisisting drawer box will be too wide for side mounts and every dimension wrong for undermount guides.
