First Apartment Living Room HELP!!!
Comments (14)So far you seem to be concentrating on cool colors and neutrals, and on cloudy/rainy/snowy days your apartment will seem rather cheerless. Introduce some warms colors, yellow and terracotta, for instance, with pillows and art. Find some very large abstract prints that have warm and cool colors both. The more wall space you can fill up with art that you love the more furnished your apartment will look even when you don't yet have all your furniture. Also, consider tribal rugs like Gabbeh (check esalerugs.com) instead of modern rugs for a more cozy and eclectic feel. You can return these rugs without charge, and you'll be able to pick pillows and other accessories using the colors taken from the rug. Make sure the rug is as large as you can afford because a larger rug will make your living area look larger and more "furnished". Don't forget books, plants and of course art to make your new home look stylish and warm. Try not to use blues and grays too much; that will just make your rooms look cold and forbidding....See MoreNeed some help with Living Room & Kitchen area in new apartment
Comments (5)Have you looked at Article? do you like this combo? I just recently got the black leather Sven sofa and that exact chair for my room. I love them! I also got the Sven leather bench/coffee table. prices are very reasonable. Then find the accessories. bring in some art or a rug w/color. I really loved the sven in the blue. this would look great w/your floor and cream wall color. (it is cream, right, and not the yellow in the picture?) Here's how the Sven sofa, bench/chair look: The pouf was from Amazon,,,the Tables and MCM credenza I've had and refinished myself. Rug I had, but I want to get something lighter. If you don't like the mcm style, they do have some others look at the Sven Birch Ivory Sofa. it's on sale! https://www.article.com I don't know know what your style is, but here's a sample mockup for the nook...I like the idea of the bench against the wall diff pendant. table ideas, and a darker chair...See MoreLiving Room Help! Comments (4)Hello Carolyn, Thanks so much for the measurements and pictures. Great job. You have a good start going there. If it was me I would open the layout up by moving the beautiful red chair into your candelabra corner along with your little side table. What about putting your candelabra to the left of the TV? Can your tree go into the corner that you have your electric piano and the can it go on the wall to the left of the closet? Maybe not but it never hurts to ask. :-) What about a white area rug?
