Comments (3)It struck me that milk paint very much resembles whitewash with pigments added. Perhaps milk paint is the new name for what used to be known as whitewash? Whitewash is easily and inexpensively made from slaked (builder's) lime. I made my own and painted our chicken coop inside with it. Without pigments added, it has a beautiful, very matte, white color. Whitewash has excellent qualities since it breathes, kills microbes, molds, flees, mites and other destructive insects which tend to hide in crevices whereever farm animals are housed. Whitewash has been used for hundreds of years by farmers and others to paint the interior and exterior of buildings that housed people and/or animals. It was especially valued for its hygienic properties around farm animals, and for its many other properties as an easily accessible, inexpensive paint for painting your bathroom or the exterior of your house. Sometimes pigments were added resulting in beautiful colors on houses. And whitewash has that beautiful texture, very, very matte, also when pigments are added. Comments (12)The outstanding fact about magnesium is that it is a constituent of chlorophyll, and is essential to the formation of this pigment. As a result, when magnesium is deficient, one of the symptoms commonly shown by plants is chlorosis. Magnesium is also regarded as a carrier of phosphorus in the plant, particularly in connection with the formation of seeds of high oil content, which contain the compound lecithin. The element seems to be very mobile within the plant, and when deficient is apparently transferred from older to younger tissues where it can be re-utilized in the growth processes. Lookit lookit lookit! It's here! I picked it up today. (My mail carrier is such a nightmare) Anyway, I have made just a few adjustments. She's right at home.
I have a weird little cabinet area that was just SCREAMING for something.
Her name is Sheila. She just got a makeover. ;) (My first time buying false eyelashes. Who knew they were so hard to find???) Shes not just pretty though....she has a new function that has nothing to do with steaming fish.....
She's my new key keeper! We have a lot lot lot of random keys.
